So you're voting for McWherter. Genius! I'm not thrilled with Haslam even though I have some family connections. He's too much of a politician, a Republican Bredesen IMO. That being said, he is far and away a better choice than McWherter.

Even if you hated Haslam as much as I despise Obama, you should

still consider the consequences of a McWhorter win. This may end

up not being a laughing matter down the road when you see his

picks for political appointees and the policies he puts in place. He

doesn't have to ask the legislature for permission to run the state.

Why was this thread even started?

We knew who the next guv was going to be for sure 3 months before the primary.

And yours truly has been saying it for a year.

I'm not voting for McWherter.

I'm not going to endorse Haslam, either. I realize that he will be much better than McWherter.

Barring an October surprise, Haslam will win by a large margin, if there is any truth to the poll numbers.

So he can afford to do so without my vote.

Don't want to vote for Halsam....but what are you gonna do?

While he may not be a big 2A supporter, I think he is less likely to veto legislation that makes it to his desk than McWherter would be.

I will support him (Haslam) if only as the lesser of the evils.

Thats the way I have found myself voting in the last several elections at both the state and federal levels
