I saw it today for the 2nd time. It's definitely a great movie. I kinda wish it was a bit longer so that some of the other characters could have had more screen time, but I think Stallone did a really good job making this an action movie lover's fantasy film.

I'll have to label this a "popcorn movie." My failure in choosing to go see this 1-hour, 45-minute gunfight in fastforward was expecting it to have a reasonable plot. Had I not made that horribly wrong assumption, this would have been the ultimate 90's throwback action movie. It had all the big names, bigger explosions, impossible action scenes, and cool guns -- Noveske N4's and an AA-12, to name a few -- and absolutely zero plot-driven storyline.

If you watch this movie expecting a meaningful development of someone's character, or to come away with some thought of "Hey, it worked out good in the end for (insert character here)," you're pretty much s*** out of luck. Mickey Rourke had a decent monologue in it, though.

However, if you watch this movie knowing up front that it's just about blowing stuff up, gunfights, car chases, and horrible one-liners, you're going to enjoy the hell out of it. :)

. . . my favorite parts were the Jason Statham fight on the basketball court, Stallone's reloads, and Jet Li bitching about being short -- I could sympathize with that last one. :hat:

I love ya buddy, but I can't believe you went in there expecting a big plot. I expected 1/3 Rambo 4 1/3 True Lies and 1/3 Transporter. I got exactly what I expected.

As for Jet Li...he would've win. :)

It'll be worth the $1.05 when it hits Redbox. Not a penny more.

Not "a big plot," just SOME plot, ANY plot that I couldn't have seen coming from around the corner. I wanted at least ONE little surprise in how it ended... Haha.

I don't think it was worth watching in the movie theater, maybe on DVD. It had a few good action scenes but overall I really didn't care for it.

I thought that too, then I remembered this movie was geared toward the Affliction shirt wearing, pre-ripped jeans having, gelled, tanned, 18-40 toolbag set.

I knew exactly what I was getting into when I went to see it. The only thing I would've wanted more of was Dolph Lundgren's character. His was my favorite, and I wish he had had more scenes.

#1 favorite part for me was hearing Stallone's truck runnin at full song in the chase scene, Ive NEVER seen a movie where the engine sounded that good.

#2 was at the end when Stallone was fanning his SAA

I watched it this weekend and it was big fun. I'm actually glad they didn't let any plot interfere with all of the big budget action scenes. I wish I had seen it in the theater instead (big screen, big sound), it would have been worth it.

Stallone's truck...AWESOME! Statham's knife work when they scout the island...BAD ^$$ ! Jet Li whining about being short...HILARIOUS! This was a testosterone ride for sure.
