Now to November...

Recommended Posts

I'm SO disgusted with the political process and with politicians in general. I may just write Basil in in Nov.

I'm thinking that also, maybe if he got enough votes to even be mentioned it would embarrass some Tennesseans. It would be a protest vote which is still a vote saying we think the choices for Governor are jokes, so we are going to vote for our own joke. One things for sure, I will NOT vote for Haslam or Son of Ned.

I'm so disgusted right now, I'm about ready to put down Earnest T. Bass as the write-in. The only encouragement I got was the sheriff's races. New sheriff here in Houston County, but the one that I hooped and hollered about to the top of my lungs was the Dickson County race. Jeff Bledsoe, who is a fine man to all who know him, beat the rotten incumbent Tom Wall like a drum. I'm STILL jumping up and down.

All the whining seems to be coming from the western part of the state. I vote for the person that I think will do the best job, and Ramsey or Wimpy was not him. You have listened to too many lies about Haslam. Thats the way Wimpy and Ramsey tried to win. By lying everytime they opened their mouth.

As mayor of Knoxville, Haslam has done a lot of good things for the people here. He has more intellegence that Wimpy or Ramsey.

As for spending some of his own money, what is the big deal? A lot of candidates do that.

Are you related to him or something?

As sad as it is with Haslam to be the nominee, I would never vote for McNed. If

Tennessee has a Republican House and Senate, would Haslam be able to do that

much damage? I don't like him, either, but I think the alternative is worse.

I agree 100%

Unless something drastic happens, Haslam will be the next Governor. Hopefully we will also retain the Rep majority as well in the Legislature, and Ramsey as Lt Gov. maybe can exert some conservativeness into the situation. I can't find out much about Haslam, other than he seems to be a RINO. Does anyone know any details of his position on the important issues?

How can you have a "sweep" in a primary?

You mean more votes were cast in Rep primary than Dem one, or what?

- OS

If it was like our end of the state, there were numerous local positions on the ballot: county mayor, council positions, etc. in additon to the primaries. Perhaps he meant those.

No DaddyO, I'm not related to Haslam. I just think that of all the candidates, that he was the best one. He has done a great job as mayor of Ktown.

I'm just tired of all the lies being told about him. Just because you don;'t know him, you think all of the lies being told about him are true.

Everyone needs to do their ther homework instead of believing lies. This is my last on the subject. You have your opinion and I have mine.

I could certainly believe that Haslam has had lies spread about him. He was the poll leader from months back and the contenders "had" to resort to trying to land haymakers on him.

Ramsey will likely stay in a key position of influence so I'm hopefully that all this means good things for the state!

yes, as far as county positions go, all the contended races were won by the republicans except 1

Ok. My 2 cents. Tenncare was created by Ned to limit the huge costs of Fed required Medicare for the poor. It was in the black when he left office. It was in the black until Dumb, erm, Don Sunquist fiddled with it. (Note: Don was a RINO, and attempted to pass an Income Tax. Due to his ineptness, Bredesen won office.)

Bredesen did not fix it. The next guy wont either.

So, we have the choice between a Millionaire Beer Man and a Billionaire Oil Man. So, how can either of these fellows "know and understand" the Middle Class, or Tennesseans in general?

So, we have the Choice of Bredesen 2.0 or a Billionaire. Well. From what I can tell, Bredesen was balanced out by the new Republican legislature. And, in some cases, overruled. Bredesen did not push for an Income Tax. So. Status quo, or the evil I do not know. Sigh. Crummy decision.

I guess I will go with Status Quo.

IMO, Vote in Haslam and keep R.R. as Lt. Gov. I would hope that R.R. will continue to push for more 2nd amendment rights and keep Haslam in check. I would rather take the lesser of the 2 evils, Haslam. Mc Mini Me will just further ruin this state.

Being in middle TN now and not close to the K'town goings on like I used to be (UT 81-85) (lived there 90-97) I don't get the details like I used to. Which lies are you upset about with Haslam. The one where he's stated nothing but generalities? Or the one where he was working with Mayors Against Guns? Perhaps that he supported Al Gore in an alternative, earlier life? Are there more? Being associated with Bloomberg was enough for me. The rest were just icing. Please inform and educate.

Well, on the bright side... looks like Mae is puttin' nails in Lynn's coffin...

I have to ask, what do you not like about Susan Lynn? I don't mean to be antagonistic, I'm genuinely curious. I don't live in her district, so aside from the interviews she did on 99.7 when the legislature was in session, I don't know anything about her. I recall hearing that she only ran for the seat when she found out that Mae Beavers was not going to run for re-election, then Rep. Beavers changed her mind and decided to run.

56, it's personal. My son did a (in the family's opinion) really bad boo-boo and married her daughter, Beelzebitch. I have seen Lynn on a very personal level, and have come to know she is not the person she pretends to be.

But, are any of us?

I guess in November, it'll be time to reinstall the Ned Ray "Good Ol' Boy Network, v.2" I'm sure not voting for the RINO a$$bag that won tonight.

This is stupid. McWherter has said numerous times he is anti-gun. Granted haslam aint much better but I think he will do a better job than anti gun mcwherter. I know haslam never really took a firm stance against stuff or what not. Chuck fleishman did a conference call town hall forum kind of deal. They called my house, said wait on the line and you can ask fleishman some questions. As soon as they picked up I said chuck are you there and some guy said yeah. (it sounded like fleishman's voice) I said well go to hell Im voting for Robin Smith and hung up LOL. That waterhead won anyways. He is the one that got Montlake sporting clays shut down initially yet claims he is gun friendly.

are there any candidates for Governor who are not Haslam or McWherter?

And does writing in a name who is not registered invalidate your ballot?

You can write in any name without invalidating your ballot, if that person actually exists (Barney Fife and Porky Pig probably wouldn't work).
