Pricing Out a Taurus Tracker

An acquaintance is selling a stainless Taurus Tracker .357. It has a 4" barrel and, according to him, has been shot very little. He said he believes the model is 627 but wasn't positive until he could double check at home.

I'm interested in the gun but neither he nor I know a price to start at. Checking g-broker and gs-America I have seen the gun for sale as high as $475 (unsold) and as low as $390 (opening bid).

Anyone have a (hopefully informed) opinion on value here? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I'd offer about 375 and see what happens. However don't look now but it won't be long before the Taurus bashers come along.

I'm not bashing, but for the same $400, you could get a like new Ruger GP100, which I think everyone will agree, is a far superior 4" .357. I would offer $350 but no more than $400 for the Taurus.
