Voted early, always so much easier.

Not in Sumner County. The election office is as far away from the majority of the county's population as possible and the keep banker's hours.

The wife and i early voted, it was quick and simple. And here in shelby county they broke a record for early voting.....sounds like the govt might have awoken the beast.

That was just the city telling Herenton to GTFO. For good.

Hoping for Luttrell, but he's not really a friend to HCPs.

6.3 million people in TN. 3.8 million registered voters. Voter turnout numbers seem to be in the neighborhood of 700,000. That's roughly 18% voter turnout. Granted their were several positions unchallenged and at least from what I could see ... many more Republican races than Democrat. I'd love to know what voter turnout has been in the past. My initial reaction is where is everyone? Shouldn't it be expected that at least half of us pay attention and care enough to make time to do our civic duty? Anyway, I'm reading the boards ... I'm hopeful to hear what others think about the next step to keep the pressure on the governor to distance himself from Bloomberg's commission and keep his promise of protection of 2nd Amendment rights.

Reconfirmed my 2004 registration was valid last year.

Went to vote today, found I had been purged from the rolls.

According to the County, new DOJ rules require all military voter registrations to be purged yearly. Military voters must request a form to register in January, then use another form to request an absentee ballot before the election.

This is the same DOJ that told Georgia they couldn't purge dead voters and invalid SSN voters from the roles.

I am perturbed.

Wife and I voted early, as we have for several years. Disappointed with the Gov results, but ... its now time to focus on avoiding Dem control of either chamber, and keepin Haslam on a very short leash.

Thanks for responding (and voting).

Looks like about half of us voted early and half voted on election day. Interesting.
