Alarm system help

My wife has recently put up new curtains which trip the motion sensor on the alarm. The curtains are only about 12 inches from the sensor and everytime the A/C comes on it trips the motion detector.

I was hoping someone could recommend a quality sensor that is more immune to false alarms than the cheapo unit that came with the system. I figure a dual-technology unit would be the ticket, but I don't want to spend the money to find out it doesn't work either.

Paging dralarms...paging dralarms...come in...

He'll be along shortly, and apparently is 'the man.'

We had to have ADT come and turn down the sensitivity for the same reason. Worked fine.

It really depends on "how much the curtain is moving" Also depends on the type of detector you have.

What kind of detector? canyou take a picture of it and email it to me @dr (dot) alarms (at) comcast (dot) net?

It doesn't help solve your problem but I have one of those touch on touch off lamps in the spare room and it comes on when the A/C blows. I have moved it all the way across the table from the drapes and vent but it seems no matter how far away it is it is so sensitive that it still comes on. Short of unplugging it I don't know to keep it turned off. ;)
