Burnt bacon pieces = Bacon Bits for potatoe's and other uses that you need seasoning for....like vegetables!

Indeed. Nothing makes green beans mo' betta like some bacon and half a white onion.

FWIW, I have an electric stove and I hate it too. A grill and a fairly extensive collection of cast iron cookware helps though. The next house will have a gas range or a dual-fuel setup.

I've found that bacon usually has it's originally intended flavor once you add it to beans, even if it has been burnt. The only bad thing about a woman burning bacon is when you find out about it after the bacon has already been thrown in the trash. There's nothing worse than a house full of that fried bacon smell in the morning, only to go in the kitchen and find out that you wont be getting to eat any bacon.

I do believe, in some southern states, that's grounds for divorce... :D
