The one hand open blade is 42012 stainless steel honed razor sharp, with 50/50 serrations for cutting rope and cord. The back of the handle has a built-in whistle for signaling. I've used one that a friend of mine has. It's bulky, but overall a great little knife.

I've had good luck with Tool Logic and cary an SL1 every day.

I would recommend getting a stronger knife and a separate firemaker. I like Tool Logic products for around town, but they're just not sturdy enough for a lost in the woods scenario.
