Boot Resole in Middle TN.

I have a pair of GA boots that have been great. I have gotten about 8 years out of the original soles. Naturally I was not wearing these on a regular basis but everytime I did I was on my feet on the ground.

The shoes themselves are still in good shape although the strings are long gone. I need to resole them and the company has no repair facilities according to the woman I spoke with last week.

Can anyone recommend a resoler in Middle TN that will do a good job and restore these to original specs? Thanks.

Apparently, for those in the business, resoling isn't too tough to do right. I've had boots resoled at a few different places and they all did outstanding jobs. Unfortunately, I can't recommend anyone in Middle TN, but I'm guessing that anyone up there who has been around for a while will do a good job.

There's a shoe repair place on the square in Lebanon, but I see you are in South Tennessee, so that might be a long drive for you.

I used the guy who had a kiosk in Cool Springs Galleria Mall. I do not know if he is still there. But his prices were quite reasonable, and he would do work on Rockport soles which are a bit difficult - considering the foam like texture. Spent $2 on heel taps - made the shoes last 3 months longer than they normally would on concrete. Did them while I waited.

If he is still there, I would go back.

There's a little place located directly across the street from the Krogers, (at the corner of Old Hickory Blvd. and Gallatin Road). I'm not sure the name of the joint...it's in a little strip mall. I've had my old comfy work boots re-soled there twice now. $40 bucks...

They do good work...

Thanks for the replies everyone. My wife hates it but I just hate to throw these boots out. We have spent a lot of time in the woods together.

Ain't nothin' wrong with getting boots resoled. I resole my work boots whenever the sole gets worn out. No point in spending over $100 on a new pair of boots when I can get them resoled for half of that and they'll last just as long...
