I really meant to put this thread in the General forum, not here. IF a mod sees this, could you move it over there if think appropriate.

I usually keep everything frozen until I am going to eat it. Only time I let it sit in the fridge is to marinate over night. Not sure about the peporoni though.

Been 5 weeks in frige. Not sure if it was frozen before or not. I can find out. I ate another package the week I got this, it was delicious by the way. I

OH, it is not just in a ziplock or anything, it is sealed, airtight shrink wrap type stuff, like you would fine sealed from the factory meats, like summer sausage you find at the store.

If it is vacuum packed then it might last a while but I think as far as factory vaccuum meat they put preservatives in it to make it last longer I think.

Yes, vacuumed packed, couldn't think of that earlier. Well we are going to eat it tonight. If it stinks when we open, we will know not to eat it!

Its already bad. DON'T EAT IT. Give me your address and I will come take it for further testing.:D

Just FYI, I hunt in Missouri every year and we always buy some goodies at Wood's Smoked Meats. They told me that their vacuum packed stuff needed to be eaten in a month or frozen. I kept some smoked snack sticks in the fridge for 3 months and they didn't make me sick.

We didn't eat them. Had too much food already when we got there, they were put in freezer until next week (this is a every Friday party that my wife's family has been having since the days that martini parties were popular, it is a way to unwind from the week, boos and food!) We will go with the smell and eat/no eat scenario!
