Haven't been on TGO in a while... moved, new job, can't carry at new job...

Finally got out last month to Stones River range & liked it, took a friend 2 weeks ago also... for $5.50 you get 2 hours of range time (but I'm sure those older gents down there would let a lady shoot longer if the range isn't filled up.)

The range attendants were very nice & will come around and check up on you also.

On Target in the Boro. Got a deal through the now defunct Owl Hollow Gun Club that is good till the middle of January. Don't know what I'll do after that.

At home. I am in the process of building a range. While it is not complete I am using it a little. I still have to finish moving the dirt and put up posts and target boards.

We like to find a place closer to us to shoot, but we travel to Norris and love shooting with other TGO members.

Speaking of which...when will we see you and M again?

In Columbia, you're pretty close to CHMR (formerly Owl Hollow Gun Club). The website is here: CHMR

I live in Franklin, and am a member. From my experiences, it has been safe, uncrowded even on weekends, and the owner (Charlie Haffner, just like his dad, whom the range is named after) is a really nice fellow. My first visit, he even spent some time helping me sight in a target pistol. You can't beat CHMR, and it's way closer than Stones River.

I can bring 1 guest for $5; if you are interested in checking the place out, shoot me a PM.

My wife (who doesn't post on here) shoots with me at the Chilhowee Rod & Gun Club in Athens. Private but inexpensive.

Stone River (I think that's the name of it; on Hobson Pike past Long Hunter Park), and On Target in Murfreesboro. Free on Tuesdays there for women also.

Places to shoot? Memphis has plenty! Some are at the local ranges.

Sad but true!

Outdoor Junction in Cookeville. From what I've seen here I might have to find a less expensive place to shoot. At $14.50 for a daily membership I might be paying a bit much.

Place is really nice, guys there are great. But if I can find a cheaper price near Sparta I def. will. Money matters.

I shoot different places.

If I am in the Knoxville area I shoot mostly at Coal Creek Armory. Living in Dayton, right now I mostly frequent Fugate's in Calhoun. Fugate's is not far from where I live and it is only 7.00 for an hour or at least it was the last time I shot there. Ammo is cheap at Fugate's to.

If you are somewhere between Dickson and Clarksville, I recommend the Montgomery County Shooting Range. Its address is Southside TN. It is about six miles east of the intersection of hwy 13 and hwy 46. Very nice. Good Range Officers.

$5.50 gets one person two hours. (I don't think they make an issue out of that... unless the place is REALLY JAMMED My wife and I have been there twice and I've never seen ANYONE asked to prove that s/he paid.. or when)

Open to public:

Fri 10 am to dusk

Sat 10 am to dusk

Sun 1 pm to dusk

During the summer months, dusk can be quite late. Under those conditions the range would close at 8 pm

Phone number -- area code is 931

When the range is open call 387-3456*

When the range is closed call 387-3256

*Bear in mind that the range may be open at times other than those listed above -- that is, open... but NOT to the general public.

Sometimes MCSC but mostly at The Shell Shop in Hopkinsville KY. Two lanes, 25yards, underground and nice folks who run it. :D

Also have shot at Stones River, The Second Amendment Gun Shop in Springfield TN.

I like the TWRA range in Bartlet. I haven't been to any others but every time i've been it was never crowded. You can't use your holster is my only complaint but I live in the country so I can practice that outside.

I really like nRange in Hendersonville. The only draw back is that my weekdays are filled with work/school/home life and rarely can get to the range except on an occasional Saturday or Sundays. nRange is closed on Sunday when I really want to shoot. That only leaves Guns & Leather in H'ville, they are PACKED on Sunday. I live in a townhome in town, so sadly, the homeowners association would frown on me setting up targets in the common areas.

Tac2in greeneville. $100 a year for fam, lots of classes and matches, tons of space, handgun and rifle areas, etc.

Couldnt ask for anything more from an outdoor range.

Gunny's in Maryville. Women shoot free on Sundays and they often run other free times such as Valentine's Day weekend and Mother's day. Bought my P22 there l last V-day and got to shoot it all day for free.
