Who could ship directly to me?

I am about ready to get a C&R license, and I would like to know WHO can ship a C&R firearm to me. Specifically, can an out of state individual without an ffl or c&r ship his rifle directly to me, because I have a C&R license? Can an in state person ship me his rifle just because we are in the same state? Thanks.

An in-state person can ship you his/her rifle right now regardless of a license. And yes, you can receive C&R firearms from individuals or dealers from out of state with a C&R license. You must send them a copy of your ink signed C&R license prior to shipment, and they must provide you with documentation to put in your bound log (c&r license, drivers license, FFL, etc). Remember you must log any c&r item you receive, whether you use your license to obtain it or not, and any previously owned C&R items you decide to dispose of (sell, trade, give away).

70below's info is right on (like always). The info I made bold is one thing that a lot of C&R holders do not realize. If your neighbor across the street sells you his old Victor Plain shotgun and you don't need your C&R to buy it from him, you still gotta log it in.

Now hurry up and get that C&R! :D

Please explain just a little more. Suppose I have my C&R license, but the fellow across the country does NOT have a C&R license. Can he send his firearm directly to me, or does he ALSO need a C&R license? Thanks for being patient.

He can send it directly to you since you are a FFL holder, in the same manner you don't need a license to ship any gun to a licensee in another state.
