So I am heading to Florida next week and am wondering if anyone knew off hand if restaurants are off limits? I am a bit confused if you can just not carry in a bar or both a bar and restaurant... :)

In Florida, you cannot carry into that portion of an establishment that is primarily the bar area. You can, in general, carry into a restaurant that serves alcohol just be cautious where you are seated.

Yeah don't sit in the 'bar area' of the restaurant in Florida. You can sit in the restaurant area carrying your gun and drink if you want in Florida...no law against it...your choice. Signs have no 'legal weight' down there...so you can just walk right past them....now if you are in a hotel...you can't sit at the hotel bar with your gun...again stay in restaurant....check out www.handgunlaw.us for more info on Florida law....the cool thing is if you want you can carry switchblades, knucks, blackjacks, in addition to your pistol when in Florida....just conceal it...have fun.

I always check Handgunlaw.us when traveling out of state.

Here is the FL page http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/florida.pdf which says restaurant carry is legal, but in the off-limits places it does have.. any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose;

So as others have said, restaurant OK, bar area or bars in general Not OK

Ch.790 , FL Statutes outline presumption of imparement, testing methods- 0.10 impared, 0.05 but less than 0.10 may be considered with other evidence in determining imparement.

www.uscarry.com is a good source of carry permit information of the different states.
