Federal Judge Nukes Arizona Illegal Immigration Law

I wish Brewer had come out and said something to the effect of " we are going to ignore this court ruling", then order law enforcement in AZ to obey the law as it was passed by the AZ legislature.

And mikeg, I hope it goes very wrong for the Dem's. Where do they get off overruling local decisions?

Well, a Judge actually overruled the local decisions. It needs to go wrong for the Dems because if they're not part of the solution, they're part of the problem. Let's don't lose sight of the fact that part of this whole thing is about trying to address the problem, and another part is a big pecker waving contest leading up to November. The problems continue because the majority of our law makers on both sides are self serving pigs. Doing their jobs is much less important to them than keeping their jobs.

Ok. Definition of a Civil War is when the Civilians rise against the Government. Definition of what the U.S. Civil War actually was: War of Secession, where the State Governments attempted to remove themselves from the authority of the federal government. In this case, if Arizona did refuse the federal Government (by enforcing the law and bypassing the Federal Courts) it would be a State attempting to remove itself from the Union again...

IF she did this, well, basically it would be the Civil Rights situation in the 1950s and 1960s all over again. Do not forget Gov Wallace of Alabama refused to abide by the Federal Court rulings. So the Alabama Guard was "Federalized" and did the enforcement. A very large oversimplification of the history, but basically what happened. And, to be honest, the National Guard is far more Federal influenced now...

Good observation, however there is a major difference between the two. The former was between soveriegn citizensof the us and the AZ issue involes citizens not under or protected under the constituion. In the AZ case right is on the side of the state this time and most people know it.

True, Az is dealing with illegals, instead of race, even though several are trying to make it a race question. The example is a modern situation which a state said, "no."

I should have been more specific, I should have said liberal judge appointed by Clinton. Even though they may be few there are some good Dem's. I used to consider myself a Democrat, and I think I am good. :)

I sincerely hope that this decision affects what happens in November.

Your last two sentences are spot the f*ck on. and that in itself is the entire reason the country is in the mess it is in.

Ain't it funny how judges, even Supreme Court judges, always rule with their party affiliations. The whole damn thing is one big joke (on us).

Well its truthful but I ain't laughing. That in itself is the scariest thing with Kagan and Soto whatshername. We will be dealing with their liberal-activist crap for a long time.

At some point, and I used to think it would not be in my lifetime, but I am going to see our country come to an end.

it may still be called the USA but it will not be the USA. At least not the USA I was raised in and used to think was the best place on the world

I seriously used to believe ( when I was a small child) that I was sooooo lucky to be an American. I used to think about what if I had been a Russian or German or Mexican. Seriously, I remember thinking that stuff. I really felt like this was the best place on earth and I was thankful I was not one of them others.

I dunno anymore, I really dunno.

This place sucks and something has to change or it is done.

it sucks worse pretty much everywhere else. I still have a little faith in it.

does it? When things get to the level of "suck" does it much matter if one place sucks a little more than another? it is all bad.

One plus I will give us, is that I can still buy guns ( if I had the $$) and I carried a .45 the last three days. Kinda disappointed no one needed shooting (j/k)

We've talked about this before. I think it's going to drift in the other direction for awhile if the Pubs don't screw up in the next few months.

I can see how you say this Mike, but I think mainly there are 5 in SCOTUS who have a clue about the Constitution and the other 4 tend to not have a clue. Conicidence, probably not.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill: 'If you're under 30 and are not a liberal you have no heart. If you're over 30 and not a conservative, you have no brain'. I wish I could find the exact quote, but this is close.

Did the national news media have anything like this over the weekend?

This should make a real Americans blood boil. It boggles the mind how anybody could be a sympathizer.
