The wife's 556 Swat weighed in at 11 even.

And my SASS weighs in at 14. That is the closest I have to an AR that is currently dressed out.

i havent put mine on the scale but id bet in the 8-9lb range. it is a basic 14.5" carbine with a reddot.

M4-gery - 5.9lbs

M16A2 clone - 8lbs

For comparison: FN-FAL Para model 18" barrel - 8.1lbs. Portuguese model AR10 - 8.2lbs. Get real guys! Why have a 5.56mm rifle that weighs MORE than a comparable .308 rifle??

I couldn't agree more. Most ar's are so "tactical" they lose the ar's biggest advantage

I have not put mine on the scale, but I am going to guess about 14 lbs. Needless to say, when you put a 20 in ss bull barrel on one, the whole weight issue is shot. My next AR will be more of a light weight carbine.

POF 16" upper DS lower .... 7.8 lbs empty and no optic.

When I am done with my AR-15 National Match Service Rifle, it will be somewhere around 14 to 16 lbs.

Just weighed my POF with scope and loaded PMag = 9.4 lbs. Not too bad in my opinion considering it has full free float quad rails. That would be 8.2 lbs empty.

Hey, TN-popo. I'm not sure i understand how those BUIS work. Why not move the AP up a bit and lower 1/3 co-witness?

LOL. I got the concept from Dave Lauck...

...my sight picture looks similar to the 3rd pic. I do have 1/3 co-witness and the Aimpoint is slightly back for even less "tube" effect.

Unconventional and not often seen, but extremely fast.

"Sweetness" only weighs about a half pound right now. She's going to put on a lot of weight over the next couple of days, and should be breathing fire on Friday.

I haven't weighed mine but it's to heavy. That's one reason I am looking into building a SBR.

I wonder how well that would work with an Eotech and full cowitness? I gots ta try it!

Eotech with full cowitness makes my head hurt. Lower 1/3 isn't much better. That's why I swapped the gas block on my Eotech rifle.
