Questions for CZ 452 Fans!

I have a brand new baby arriving tomorrow and have some questions. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

1. Is it recommended to break the barrel in and if so what is the suggested protocol to be followed.

2. I have a nice Varix III 6.5 x 20 to throw on her and was wondering what would be the best bang for the buck rings to use. I think these need to be 11mm and not the normally used 3/8 style. I also considered putting a rail onher as well......I think they look pretty cool.

What is your opinions and please inform me of anything else I may want to consider.........oh I have already ordered the yoDave trigger kit.

I wouldn't worry about the barrel as most 22's are soft lead anyways. Get a Yo Dave trigger kit from rimfire central, try some Wolf Match target, Eley, SK Jag, etc and see what shoots best. Most of mine would tack drive at 25 and the Silhouette I have right now will do it at 50 if the wind is calm.

I agree....shoot it and take care of it. The barrel break in for .22 rifles via a gun snob is downright superstitious. They will tighten up over about 100 shots. Go ahead and budget in $25 more for the 10 round mag.

You will LOVE that rifle. They shoot amazingly well. Enough to where our rimfire competition at CRC is 40+ CZ rifles and 1 or 2 other guns.

I own six of these rifles. I have not broken in any of them and they all still shoot great. If you have accuracy trouble out of the box, free float the barrel. Enjoy one of the greatest rifles ever made!

All 'American' models and .22wmr/17hmr Varmints are 3/8" rail. Get a set of BKL rings. They are worth the money.

Thanks guys for all the input. I do have the varmint model so the 11mm rings would be what I need. I also have several brands of high end ammo and will be testing them all. I look forward to going to the range!
