Need info about PRIEST LAKE PISTOL AND GUN CLUB

I was talking about shooting ranges and such with Dan down at Specialty Arms in La Vergne. He mentioned PRIEST LAKE PISTOL AND GUN CLUB in SMYRNA, TN. From the little I had time to learn, there's monthly meetings and/or range time and/or breakfast once a month. I didn't want to bother him much at work about it, so I thought I'd ask you folks to see if I could learn more.

I'm really hoping someone on here is a current or former member and wouldn't mind sharing some information. I'm mostly interested to know what constitutes meetings or events, but to be honest, any information would be welcome.

Huh, I would have thought somebody on here would be a member or know someone who is.

Oh well, it didn't hurt to ask.

I'm a former member. Got tired of all the stupid rules that the National Guard puts on the range(it is theirs, though). Days to shoot got more and more limited, can't be there alone, got to rake the sand when you are through. It would be a good organization if they had a better place to shoot.

That pretty much sums up my expierence also. Very limited and a pain to deal with the guard.

Thanks for the input, I think I was told they still shoot there. I shoot at the TWRA range on Hobson Pk., so I'm used to lots of rules/regulations, but why trade the devil ya know for one you don't.

At the NG range can you do moving drills at all (shooter moving, not targets) or is it just a static firing line? I really want to practice shooting on the move, but cannot find ANYWHERE that is set up that way.

When I was a member there were no RSO's, so shooting and moving was ok. I know we did in classes I've been to there.

That's awesome news, thanks again for the input.
