Jonathon Livingston Seagull or Forrest Gump. Both show me reasons to keep on LIVING and both show reasons to LET IT GO.

Lonesome Dove!

That.

Never get tired of this line, among others...

"Got anything to say to your brothers? I suspect you got them into this."

"Damn them..."

"Well I will say this...you're the kind of man that it is a pleasure to hang. If all you can talk is guff...GO TALK IT TO THE DEVIL!

(slaps horse, bad guy hangs).

Gold.

Have a friend that goes to the movies but has no TV. Came here from Germany after Boondock Saints came out. Never heard of it. Last week he was expressing his aggravation with the common thugs of Memphis. I said, "I've got a couple of movies that'll get you amped!" Boondock plays first.

The first half of Full Metal Jacket and the opening scene of the 2nd half (These Boots are Made for Walking)....ME SO HORNY!!!

Then it gets turned off and I go to bed.

Some really great movies mentioned here: Lonesome Dove, Groundhog Day, The Godfather, 300...But to show my age and movie taste, I'd have to vote for Armageddon. I've sat thru it countless times, it seems and still don't tire of it. Close second choices would be the orginial Terminator( I watched that four times one day) and The Green Berets.

Blackhawk Down

Cool.

I actually met Michael Durant shortly after the incident, at a steakhouse in Clarksville. Class personified, that guy:up:

Blackhawk Down

A great movie that does justice to those in the fight.

But, its a bit too personal for me..., I've only been able to watch it once.

When I went to Benning for BCT/AIT my BN had two Drill SGTs that were part of Task Force Ranger and participated in the battle. We didn't talk movies though.

Yea, its sort of hard to talk movies while doing push-ups for the Drill.

Some trivial for ya. The man who commanded the "Little Birds" in Operation Gothic Serpent just retired this year as a full colonel and now lives in Murfreesboro.
