I just traded for this, my new evil black truck. It is a Ford F100 Explorer long bed. It has a 302 V8 with a 540 lift cam, Edelbrock 650 Carb/intake, Accel plugs/wires, K&N filters, Accel coil, Master Pro Ignition - Pickup/cap/rotor, 10" mag wheels with brand new tires and duel Flowmaster exhaust. I have been wanting a project truck for some time, something to work on in my spare time. I spent all weekend working on it (distributor, tune up, oil change, carb adjustment etc.) I ordered a set of Hedman headers which I will probably tackle this weekend if they get here in time. Thought I would show it off a bit.

Should be a great project. I love those old Ford trucks from the 70's. I really need to get a shop built so I can start working on those old things again. I've still got my 79 Bronco that I bought when I was 15, and it's badly in need of a restoration.

I love them too. I can actually work on them and they are tuff as nails, not like the new ones. When I was 18 I had a '69 F100 with a 390 big block that I have always regretted getting rid of. You should start working on it again.

Ahhhh, metal dashes......I bounced my face off one of those one time as a kid. I was with my granddad and we were going down an ice covered hill that had a 90 degree turn at the bottom, trees lined the road......we didn't make the turn, I WAS standing in the seat. We also would be riding around in the back, sitting on the tailgate, with our legs hanging off too. Fun times, it's amazing we survived.

I really need to get back on it. Funny you mention the '69 F100, because my first pickup was similar being a '68 F100 with a 360. I bought it from a junk yard for $300 and rebuilt everything that needed rebuilding on it. I use to hang out alot at another junk yard not far from my house, and the old guy that owned it pretty much gave me everything I needed. Any parts I came to get he would always just tell me to give him $1 for it so that I couldn't tell anyone he gave it to me. My dad put an excellent black paint job on it, and I completely redid the interior and engine compartment to where everything on the truck looked just about brand new.

I too have always regretted getting rid of that truck, and still want to cry a little everytime I look at old pictures of it. Dad talked me into trading it for a newer model before I ever even turned 16 since I had someone that wanted it badly, and that newer model that I ended up with turned out to be the biggest POS ever produced in this country. Now I'm going to go out in my warehouse and kick myself in the a$$ again since the subject has come up. :tough:

I have no clue what they were planning to do with it, but it isn't wired to anything. My guess is the redneck I got it from was trying to make it look like he was equipped with nitrous.

Yeah, it is. My first goal is to get the engine and exhaust the way I want it. Then I will rewire the entire electrical system. After that it will be body work time. I am not trying to restore it to original or make it a show truck, I just wanted something to play with. It will be more of a "hot rod" when I am done. I will probably put a new rear end in it also, it is geared high right now and I would mind a bit more low end.

Nice man. I love Ford trucks and have owned three and a 74 Bronco. I don't have pics of my danger ranger (1987 Ford Ranger) but I have pics of my F150's.

This truck was a 94 that i traded in in 2008 with 240,000 original miles. Never a single problem out of it.

But the 67-72 has always been my favorite body style and one of these days, I will own one. I was never a fan of the mid-late 70's pickups but did like the broncos. Although early broncos are the best!

That's a good lookin' truck. My dad had an 88 F150 when I was younger and that thing broke down every 5 minutes. The ignition module was mounted on the distributor, so the heat from the intake would cause the module to act up and go out a lot. That and a million other problems led him to sell it. That is the only experience I have had with an 80's model Ford truck. I loved my 69 and my Dad also had a 67, I loved that one too. I just wish this one was a three on the tree, those are fun.

My dad bought a 77 Bronco off the showroom floor with 3 on the tree. Those were a lot of fun. Wish he didn't sell it. As far as trucks are concerned, for new models, Ford has the best looking in my opinion. I absolutely want to puke when I see a Chevy with the chrome bumper, with the painted ends, the rest of the styling goes down from there!

I did have to replace my ignition module on the 94 once. Mine was the redesign though and it was mounted on the inner fender. 15 bucks and 5 minutes to replace. As for the three on the tree, YES! My 74 bronco was a three on the tree and it was fun to take kids for a ride that had never seen one, and even more fun to catch second in that truck!

3 on the tree, 302 and glass packs = Fun, and loud, times!!

Indeed sir. Although I didn't have glass packs so I just hacked the exhaust off behind the headers. It surprisingly wasn't that loud.

This was back in the 80's when it was in it's prime, my dad and some other friends, all had glass packs. I drove it some through high school and my dad sold it when I was at college. Always loved the sound it made when you dropped it down from 3rd to 2nd to slow down. Powpowpooowppowwoppowww......POW!

Never seen one and had no idea how to drive one. :) They were always impressed that I knew how to shift it. As for the exhaust, this one has Flows with pipes stopping under the cab and, of course, no converters. It isn't obnoxious, but it is close. :D

I had a 68 Chevy pickem up with a 3 on the tree, was fun to drive and second gear lasted forever. No power steeering so the steering wheel was about as big as a sewer lid.
