Chupacabras in TN again?! Man kills weird animal in Walnut,TN.

I'm not much for flights of fancy, but this is kinda weird. Only a week or two ago a wildlife officer killed something that looked exactly like this in Texas. I'm not exactly buying a wide outbreak of mange on a specific breed of dog. We did have this story here awhile back to from Dickson...

Walnut residents speculate about identity of strange creature - WMC-TV: News, Weather, Traffic, Radar, and Sports for Memphis, TN; WMCTV.com |

WALNUT, MS (WMC-TV) - Residents of Walnut aren't sure what to make of a strange animal that was recently killed at a local farm.

Tanya Guitron said rumors have been swirling about the animal.

"I heard that somebody shot an elephant-looking creature," she said.

Others said the animal could be a Chupacabra, a legendary vampire-like creature suspected of killing livestock and then sucking their blood.

Pictures of the animal, uploaded to My 5, look similar to ones captured in images from Mexico and Texas.

Kenneth Pulse, who raises goats near Walnut, believes he has encountered the creature.

"Two for three weeks ago, we buried a goat in the pasture - a full grown goat," he said.

The goat weighed about 70 pounds, but that didn't seem to matter.

"Something had dug it up and pulled it in the pasture, and had eaten most of it," he said.

A few days ago, the goat was buried for a second time.

"It's already been pulled out in the field and eaten," Pulse said.

Pulse remains prepared for whatever he might encounter.

"I take my gun when I go down there at night, and my dogs," he said.

But does the Chupacabra exist, or is it just an urban legend?

"No one has been able to prove it, but no one has been able to disprove it," said Herb Roberts, a curator at the Memphis Zoo.

Roberts could not say with certainty what the animal in the pictures was.

"I would identify it as a dog with a very, very bad case of the mange," he said. "I want to believe that things exist that we haven't seen or discovered yet."

It doesn't seem odd to you guys that there are dead, sick dogs that look EXACTLY alike popping up in different states? I mean this isn't exactly blurry Bigfoot or "My Uncle knows a guy who slept with this girl who's Dad saw the Loch Ness monster". I'm curious to see the DNA results from the one in Texas.

The one that GGP2Jz posted is strange looking and doesn't look like 100% dog. Kind of looks like it has some kangaroo or something similiar in the mix, with the shorter front legs and when on all fours, it is pointing downward. Strange looking none the less.

Could just be a new kind of disease that's starting to catch on more and more in dogs. Honestly looking at those pictures and thinking back to years ago when I lived at my last house, I had a stray dog that looked about like that wander up to my house one day. I really should have put him out of his misery, but he seemed to be a fairly happy little fella so I let him live hoping that he was go back to where he came from. He wandered around my barn for a few days, then I think he killed the neighbor's cow and disappeared.

So I'd say those are definately just dogs with some kinda disease.

You just described a chupacabra to the letter according to cryptozoologists. The myth used to be that they were little lizard/demon creatures, but then it changed to something that was kangaroo like. If you look at the back legs vs. the front they do have kangaroo like qualities. I just want to know what kind of disease makes a dog look like that and attack livestock, because rabies doesn't do that!

That thing looks like a cross between a bull terrier and an aardvark... And no, I don't think even a severe case of mange can make one look like that.

It's ugly for sure. Yeah, I've seen mange...that isn't frigging mange.

is it hairless?

Looks like it has been dead for a while, but the pics of the Texas chupa was a fresh kill.

I hope it is real. Maybe it was Bigfoot's pet!

I hope it is a disease that turns dogs into zombies and makes them start sucking the blood out of livestock. Maybe it is a disease that has been around for a long time but is becoming more common and spreading more rapidly. If so......it's only a matter of time before it becomes noticable in humans........hopefully......

Maybe it is a new military/CIA fighting force developed to "sniff" out terroist and a few got loose and have an appetite for goat blood...

It won't be long till all of the Republican candidates will be promising to close our borders to the illegal flow of Chupacabras.

Only after the democrats give the illegal chupacabras free medical care for their mange and treatment for their obvious mental disorder and evilness.:)

I was hoping more along the lines of a mutant dog that attacks people who do not believe in gun rights. We could start breeding them and shipping them to places like Chicago. The would also make a great gift for PITA members.
