Does anyone here have any expierence with kydex for holster making purposes? I want to make a kydex clip on (into) holster for my Walther P22.

Kind of like a clip on holster for a cell phone but for a gun :D NOT FOR SERIOUS CARRY just a holster for at the range or something. How hard is it to form, mold, shape kydex? I have a few ideas and will try them for template sizing purposes on some cheaper plexi-glass type material... Thanks for any input!

Kydex is malleable with very low heat. I recently "tweaked" the CTAC holster that I purchased for my Kimber 1911 by heating it very briefly with a low-tech lighter. This allowed me to better form the trigger guard retention area to my specific gun and provide a more positive "click" when the gun is inserted.

Some folks just lay a sheet of kydex onto a cookie sheet and briefly warm it up in their oven. Others use heat guns. Smart folks use a dummy training pistol for the form.
