Sounds like a good reason to finally get off my donkey, and switch my accounts to the credit union like I have been saying I needed to do for the last year or so!

Give them a No Gun No Cash card when you do .

Someone mentioned going to Suntrust, my wife had asked about carrying concealed(deap) while working there and what the policy was and they had kind of the walmart-starbucks opinion for employees and customers. They would rather act like it has never been brought up.

Worst bank anyways.........Fee's up the yingyang, even a check cashing fee

for non customers of 7.00 and yes I go in any and every back with my CC.

The whole reason I CC is because occasionally I need to carry thousands of dollars on me

for work thank you very much..

FYI every bank up north has 1.5" bullet proof glass between the bankers and the customers

you would think these bank dummies would realize its needed at every bank ,esp in Memphis where I reside

Regions is based in Birmingham. That must be a building that some silly manager decided to stick up some sort of sign in Knoxville. Corporate probably would not be too happy about that (signs in Alabama mean nothing). There is no way i'd go inside any bank without a gun on me......I always do and always will because I am generally carrying money/deposits on me. I've never seen signs at Regions in Arkansas, TN, MS, Alabama, FL, or Georgia.....so this has got to be some clown manager/regional director on his on agenda.

I'm not a big fan of Regions..well honestly any bank...I'd have my money in a coffee can if i could! but I travel a lot and hate paying fees to use an ATM for cash...and Regions is about everywhere in the Southern US...about the only other way to avoid the ATM fee for me would be Bank of America...another bank equally as sorry and even bigger than Regions.

Didnt see the one in Dayton posted or the one in Chattanooga there as you get off at lee highway. I will go and check them tomorrow. If they are Im switching all my money to sun trust bank.

I checked both again this past week and neither were posted. I went buy the suntrust there on the corner of shallowford and it didnt appear to be posted either. Although they had bullett proof glass up. I dont recall having ever saw a posting at the sun trust in Oak ridge either. That is why I have two banks like to keep money in each just in case.

But would a posting actually make a differences?.....

I'd probably choose a posted place to rob, all else being equal. Might nudge the odds for me a tad.

I have no reason to ever go back to a Regions Bank.

I closed my account there about three years ago after they started not cashing my pay checks.

They said they had a policy in witch I had to deposit my check(Thursday) and the funds not be ready til Tuesday.Makes for hard weekends when you live from pay day to pay day.Plus most of my bills I pay cash on so I do not need paper checks.

Y12 Credit Union has been perfect banking for the past three years.

I stopped @ the Regions in Oak Ridge to use the ATM earlier in the day. The ATM is located between the inner and outer doors as you walk in the front. The outer door is not posted. I looked at the inner door and it isn't posted either however I looked at the area around the door and on the lower left side lite there is a small gun buster sign that is about 3 X 5. It had text in small font under the circle symbol. I don't know what it says since I would have had to put reading glasses on and bent over to see it. The sign actually looked worn as if it has been there for quite some time.

I think what you are seeing is the old gun busters sign from the old amsouth days.

The Regions branch in Bellevue (near the now defunct mall) is now posted. This week was the first time I've been there since they posted.

I believe the Regions branch in Bellevue was robbed not too long ago.

A couple days ago the Regions located off of HWY 70 S right in front of the old Bellevue mall was robbed. I go to the one off Old Hickory just near the 70 intersection.

That was the branch I was at on Tuesday. It was posted Tuesday afternoon. Anyone know if it was posted before or after the robbery?

Well, it was robbed on Monday afternoon. I guess they think that little sticker on the door would have stopped the bank robber. :D

Well, if they didn't put the sticker up until after the robbery, it blows my mind if they think that is going to make a big difference as mentioned above.

Yep:

Gunman Sought for This Afternoon's Bank Robbery in Bellevue

The picture perfect shot if that lady would've been armed.

I would like to interview her "so what did it feel like to be completely at the mercy of someone else when you could have had the ability to protect yourself?"

It just shows that it can and will happen anytime/anywhere...

Just left my local branch (Bearden Hill in Knoxville), which is now posted with gunbuster and T.C.A. language on the double door to the main lobby. I've got a call in to the branch manager, who is currently out of the office with a broken ankle. I am sad. :(
