My permit came today,as well. Haven't been on here much lately, been recovering from a pretty nasty car wreck (broken leg, collarbone, and right arm) but will be good to go way before bow season, and certainly before this hunt. RW, I would imagine everyone would bring their own tent, as I do not imagine spending the night in a tent with Robtattoo would be much fun for anyone. ;)

Weeeeeeee!!!!! ;)

Permit came in today's mail!

Anyone ever hunted Catoosa before? It looks like a bloody big place to find a place for a stand!

While I'm here, who'll be hunting with what & how? I'm thinking I may still-hunt (on the ground) with my frontstuffer.

The place is bloody big, Rob. Somewhere between 79 and 82K acres. I have hunted there several times, but it's been almost 10 years. Be like starting all over again. I'll likely be hunting with my M77 .25/06 or a 336 30/30 (should be familiar to you).

I'll have to wait and see if I can even go. I start a new part time job nights and weekends on Monday. Don't currently have a tent so that's why I asked. Would probably get a smaller two person job if I go. Maybe a hotel room down in Crossville worst case.

Be sometime a couple of weeks before the hunt that I'll know. Not going to bring that up week one of the new job. LOL

Thanks though, I may take you up on that as I don't do much camping. Depending on what our TN winter is doing, a tarp hung from a tree and a ground pad with a good sleeping bag might work to. Been several times I have hunted in plain camo sleeves in TN in December. Had to go ice down two deer one season on opening day when my Dad and I both got one and it was in the 80's. We shall see.

Thanks again.

Well if it's been 10 years since you've been to Catoosa, your not gonna recognize the place. The

TWRA has let the loggers come in and clearcut most all the good hardwood stands out of the place.

It's a shame, really, because it will never be back like it was, not in our lifetime anyways.

I too, was drawn on the December hunt, and the November hunt as well.

I have hunted Catoosa for over 20 years, and have seen some big deer and hogs taken outta there.

Maybe I can hook up with some of you guys on the December hunt...I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Select at exit 322, up by the Bean pot.
