I believe most candidates are in the a$5-kissing phase of their campaign now. It's good to be the ones whose a$5 is being kissed instead of kicked for a change.

That's likely because the mailings are targeted (no pun intended) mailings. Candidates who are using mailings almost always buy mailing lists from particular groups (such as the NRA) and send mailings specifically targeting the issues important to that group.

How about a campaign flyer with hot bikini clad women holding AK's and AR's standing next to a grill full of BBQ ribs and some T-bones and a cooler full of Budweiser and a TV in the background playing a NASCAR race?

Unless the NRA has changed its policy it does not sell its member lists to anyone. More likely Tennessee candidates bought a copy of the state's database of HCP holders.

Politicians troll for votes the same way guys troll for women in night clubs. They will say ANYTHING to achieve their objective. Lots of people fall for the lines in both scenarios.

Hence the current administration in Washington.
