Just call them up...

They always have a good selection. Definately will have some Barrett REC7 6.8 or 5.56 carbines. Better to get the answer straight from the horses mouth.

They no longer have the one made by Colt chambered in 9mm... I just got it this am!!!

They have quite a bit in stock. I would recommend that you do your homework on what you're interested in before you go. Their asking prices are usually pretty high. They have always given me good deals though, you just gotta mention what other people are selling the same item for and they will be competitive. Do your homework before and you'll be fine.

To be fair. Everything in this world is negotiable.

If you aren't happy with the price, ask, negotiate, and haggle. The worst that can happen is that you get told no.

I do like the Outpost though, I'm not being totally negative. They have given me some good deals in the past, but I much prefer a store to lay out a decent price right out of the gate, rather than me have to price shop around first. I like knowing I can walk into a store and feel that I'm getting a decent deal instead of having to call all the other stores to find out that the price I was quoted by the Outpost was significantly higher.

Good example. When I purchased my Ruger SR556 a while back I called them to see what their price was. They told me $1599.00 plus tax I asked if that was the best they could do and the guy said "maybe we can do a little better, but that's a pretty good price." I called a local store near Knoxville and they said we'll get you done for $1500 OTD, that's $1415 plus tax....that's $246 less if you factor tax. Same rifle, 2 hours less of a drive. I didn't even call the Outpost back to see if they would match it b/c the other store gave me a great deal right off the bat.

Anyway, I do really like the store, the selection, and the people, however my only complaint is the pricing. They do have the best store in the area though and I won't ever take that away from them! Call it constructive criticism, I am not trying to bash them at all, I just wanted to share my $.02 for what it's worth. I wish we had an Outpost in Knoxville!

I agree Mike, however is it really necessary that we have to treat every gun deal like negotiating with a used car salesman. It's just annoying. Hope your doing well by the way!

I'm going to stop now, I didn't mean to turn this thread into this discussion. Go check out the Outpost Orion6 you'll like the store! Shelly works there and is on the forum quite a bit. I'm sure she can answer questions for you on anything you're interested in.

Bro..

Larrys is having an AR sale all month long. If a trip to Huntsville Al aint out of the question, check it out.

Ive been buying there since '79, its to the point I dont have to look no where else anymore, cause NO ONE beats him, period. The prices at some of the mentioned places are outrageous, imo. Go online, look up Larrys Pistol & Pawn, check it out yourself. Im hitting it Saturday myself.

If you are driving from Chattanooga, I would checkout Hero Gear; you will be passing within 15 miles of it.

Went to both today. Outpost has GREAT inventory. They had a DSA FAL in Para config that I really wanted. But -

Prices are just too high overall. Some stuff was in line with national prices, some stuff $200-$300 higher. Very nice and helpful staff though.

Also stopped by Hero-Gear. Joe wasn't there but all the guys are always nice. They had lots of stuff, but I ended up leaving with only a Magpul MOE handguard.

Lotsa driving, not much to show for it, but had a fun day.

I went to the outpost once and will never go back

I bought my little M&P 15-22 rifle from Larry's. I was working on a jobsite in Huntsville a couple months back and was bored one weekend and ran across Larry's. I was very impressed with the pricing. I got it for less than Bud's price and they included a rifle case and a brick of .22 ammo. I also bought some XM193 ammo from Larry's around the same time. I still can't find a better price on it anywhere.

Larry's has a great selection too....it's worth the drive for sure. If you want something in particular I might call ahead and see if they have it, but you can at least feel confident that even their asking prices will be very good.

I like going in Outpost even if I'm just looking around, which my wife calls "pre-shopping", since she knows I'll find something I have to have w/in 4 months or so.

They also have a huge holster selection and it's easy to "try one on" there.

The Outpost is a good store but im going to agree with some of the above posts regarding their gun prices. To their credit the ammo selection is great and they have a lot of other nice stuff. I've been a customer there for about a year now and will continue to be.

Their prices seem in line with most shops. Depending on where you go, some items will cost more then they do at another place.

Not bashing, but that doesn't mean it's a good price. If Bud's or Tanner's or AIM can sell something, say a Century WASR AK for $399, bigger stores around the south shouldn't be too far off. Say it was $439 or so, I wouldn't complain. But I saw three WASR's yesterday for $539 and up at two places. That's high.

I like the Outpost but I was very disappointed at their prices. Yes you could haggle with them but the most they will take off a 600 WASR is 100-150. Evnen minus this amount the gun is still too expensive. I never thought I would see the day when another store was more expensive then Benton Shooters Supply.

Agreed, the sticker prices are high at the Outpost BUT with just a little haggling I was able to get within 50 bucks of internet prices on two different deals. With results like that, I have no complaints. Never hurts to do homework, ask and make offers. :D

Why not just price it fair (not rock bottom mind you) to begin with? They have access to the same internet I do.

There's making a profit, and then there's insulting. Again, if AIM can get it for $400, I wouldn't expect anyone to be too far off that (maybe 75-100 bucks tops).

But AIM (or any other Internet store) hardly make a profit from each handgun they sell, and due to the fact they can sell all over the country, each small sale adds up and that's how they make their money. Brick and mortor stores can't compete with the Internet guys. The majority of the time, they're selling guns they have in stock, in the store. I like this because I can actually handle the gun before I buy. I know you can go to a local shop, handle the gun you're interested in, and then go buy it online, but I don't like doing that.

Listen, I completely agree that the Internet is cheaper, and if price is all that matters, then you're good to go. But I'd rather not only support TGO Vendor's who spend money to help keep this site going; but also keep my money in the state, going to the small business owners. If I have to pay a little more, it doesn't bother me. These local shops have a lot more overhead than an Internet store.

Also, in my experience, after I've had to pay shipping and a transfer fee, it pretty much all evens out against what I would have paid at a shop.
