Done between 2002 and 2006, it seems to be similar to The Unit, only it's British and has the SAS as the focus.

It's not all that great, but is far more interesting than most of the crap I find on cable, late at night.

I'll warn you though, Brit TV doesn't have the same censorship standards as the U.S., so this one's both bloody and full of foul language.

Here ya go; Ultimate Force

( Yeah, a silly name too... )

I've watched the first season, and it at least kept me amused. :(

Sounds like the BBC did that to it 4 or 5 years ago... it seems to have gotten the same treatment from them that Firefly got from FOX.

As long as nobody expects any more than guns, cussing, and people getting the :( shot out of 'em - and all with British or Irish accents - I think y'all will at least be mildly amused by it.

( Seems that anybody that gets shot by the good guys in this show gets a minimum of 3 bullets, and occasionally 20 or 30. )

I love BBC shows. One of the best that they cancelled was Primeval. I'll definitely check this out.

Ditto on Primeval. Also, have any of you watched the BBC series MI5? My wife and I have been watching it for a couple of years now and it's really pretty good. The first five seasons were about like a British 24, but the last two have been somewhat more portraying the division between the US and Britian and showing US characters in a less than sterling light.

I haven't caught that one yet either.

As for primeval, it has been renewed and a new season will start sometime in 2011. Still sucks that they killed most of the main characters but as long as Abby and Conner are there, it will still be good!

Just watched the first episode... not bad. A bit grisly at points, but really pretty good.

I've been watching all night... are there only 6 episodes in the first season?

Pretty amusing/cheesy at times but not bad. I miss The Unit.

4 to 6 episodes per season seems to be it, from what I've found by googling it...

Strange

Aggravating

Smartass

?

Probably.

Special Air Service? Nope.

( Although I do know a bunch of interesting ways to wreck the human anatomy... )

Because "Jamie" is the main character :D

Sometimes I think half the people in the UK are a "Jamie"... Fact is, I'm one of a kind though.

Glad to here it's coming back. Bummer to hear that about the missing characters though. I just got the second season dvd and hadn't watched yet. Notice that Brit seasons seem to be very short on these shows? Sometimes 6 to 10 episodes? And they will kiss off a mainline actor/character in a heartbeat. Example of MI5; lead agents and subordinates drop like flies. Just when you get used to the accent and can understand all the dialog--Bang of Boom--he or she is gone.

Thats one of the reasons that I like Brit shows so much. They aren't afraid to kill off someone just because of their name.

And yeah, Brits don't even call them seasons. They call them series and generally have two series per year, a spring and winter series.

Speaking of names, I've found it interesting to see Tony Curran (Pete) in something non-vampire related.

Before this, all I'd seen him in was the Blade and Underworld movies.
