Wife out of town and I got Lucky

Unfortunately as time creeps up on us all "getting lucky" sometimes take on new meanings.

After really beginning to wonder if either of my favorite FFL's was ever going to get one of the Sig P226 Gadsden Edition pistols I got lucky. Not only did one of them get one they ended up getting one and then two more the next day while I was picking up mine.

Also since funds are tight and these are not cheap guns I had to come up with some very creative bargining in order to pull this one off.

I ended up trading my Walther First Edition PK380 and got 50 bucks more for it than I paid a little less than a year ago. I had intended to hold on to it longer but I simply "Had" to have this Sig, and I did buy the FE with the idea to trade or sell it at some point anyway, I just thought I would have it longer. And since having something that I really want in layaway makes me more nuts than usual I had to do the creative stuff.

What I wanted to do is also trade my SP-101 along with 4 speed loaders, the Hogue mono grips and about 100 rounds of good SD ammo for it. I then wanted them to go ahead and sell all the accesories/ammo and then let me buy just the gun back from them thru lay away with a profit on it for them of course. I figured they could also make some profit off the accessories/ammo and then I would re-gather all that stuff after I got the gun paid for and back. I wasnt at first but became very attached to that wheel gun.

Well they would have none of that, they took the PK and will be keeping it to sell but they also took the SP and all the accesories/ammo and then put all that stuff together and re-sold it to me for only 25 bucks more than they were giving me.

By them doing that for me I was able to walk out with the new Sig with very little out of pocket and will still be able to retain my SP. I have as long as I want to pay it off.

They also gave me a killer price on the Sig to start with, well below MSRP. The only down side (if there really is one) is that tax will end up being paid again for the SP. But then again the same amount or more of tax was saved anyway on the Sig because trades are deducted from the cost before tax is applied.

Basically they became a pawn shop for me for the SP and I now have one mighty fine new shootin iron. This type of getting lucky is even better than the other kind as this will last much much longer.:D

I do know it never happened with out pics so here goes.....

My new Love of my life.....for now.

My main EDC's.............

My main BUGs......

With all of them out a group shot was in order. This is most of the handguns I own, and while it isnt much I have only had this disease for a year and a half, and have had to wheel and deal for everyone of them. I am sure it will only get worse over time.;)

One HUGE difference in "getting lucky" of days gone by and this occasion is that, this one was a "Love at First Sight" deal, I will be keeping her until Death do us part.

I can not wait to take her on her first date and hope to this Saturday but the Wife and Life will be more of a factor in whether or not that happens than any of "my" desires.

But right now I am one VERY HAPPY CAMPER!

It is by far the finest handgun I own and being a limited production is just icing one the cake.:) Can ya's tell I am Happy?

I simply can not say enough good things about the Great Outdoors Store in Jackson, and for any one interested.... as of yesterday they still had two more of these jewels. Since the grips are real wood every one of them is slightly different. The other two that they have, have a darker couple lines of grain thru them while mine is more consistant, It was a tough choice as they are all really Sharp IMO

As for Specs. they are 15+1, 9mils with Sig Nite Sights and come with two mags. Additional specs found here.

Products & Services

Thanks for lookin....but no touching please:D

Ahh Shucks, yall are cool, go ahead and feel her up if ya like, it wont wear it out:crazy:

Hi

somehow that Sig looks off.

snake and position of letters don't belong to Sig at all. looks like last minute design.

Germans are technically inclined but don't have sense of design

Well it may look "off" to you but it isnt. The snake is from the US Gadsden Flag used by the US Navy and also in our revolutionary war for awhile. The gun is a limited edition paying tribute to that flag and this countries history. as this is the 25th anniversary of the P226.

There will be 1776 (our birthday) of these made and 226 of the actual anniversary editions made. I wont hold it against you for not knowing the history of the Gadsden Flag but that is what the snake is about.

Also Sig Sauer is originally a Swiss company, Sauer is one of the Germany companies that they merged with, they are now a worldwide company Headquartered in the US.

And I guess it is "to each his own" but if the gun was all black I would not want it, the tan wood is beautiful and the accents are nickle. I love it.

Not much of a "collection" really three "workers" and two "lookers"..... LOL.

And lots of folks think the rainbow is girly but I LOVE it too. I think it is a beautiful piece of work.

And nothing says a gun cant be pretty and still be all about business, I would however like to have another 238 so I could "Safe Queen" the rainbow. There are several versions of it that I think are really sharp looking. And no matter what the finish is the thing is a dream to shoot, being pretty is just a big + IMO.

Well, with some wives that could be deal breaker too.

When she gets home and you say "Sweetcheeks, guess what I did?" She's going to roll her eyes and say "Don't you have enough guns, already? I swear, I just don't understand you!"

to which the reply always seems to be "but lucious muffins, I couldn't turn this deal down. I'll actually make money (if I ever decide to sell anything)!" which leaves her with two options, "I think we need to talk," or "give me the credit card, I'm going shopping."

Nice Sig The 226 is a truly classic design. You gonna shoot it or is it a safe Queen?

Nice Looking Sig! It'd be pretty cool, but completely unsafe I realize, if when you pulled the trigger a flag pole would pop out the end of the barrel, unfurling the actual US Gadsden flag. :(

Sweet piece...I just ordered one of those myself, though unfortunately i plan on just keeping it as a safe queen or one of those "in case of emergency break glass" deals...I think im gonna hunt a presentation box for mine and put it somewhere with the gadsden metal sign I got from jrutledge...im more of a 220 guy when it comes to carry. Glad your keepin the SP101 too...they are great guns.
