Has anyone ever been drawn for this hunt and if so was it worth it? I am considering applying and was just wondering how the huntin is up there. If i do get drwn it is a long way for me to hunt for one day but if the chance at areal nice buck is good it may be worth the trouble.

Assuming you're talking about the BAE facility in Kingsport, I used to live a couple miles from there. While I never hunted it, from what I saw you'll be tripping over the deer. The local National Guard unit would practice out there. A member I worked with talked about how funny it was to be laying in the weeds watching the deer with HMMWV's and Bradley's driving around.

I have hunted here an it sucks. Yes there are many, many, bucks in there and some nice bucks at that. With that said their rules and regulations I personally dont like. 1.They take you back to your hunting area put you in the stand and you only have a 100 foot radius that you can move in(it may be more than that I cant remember excatly but its not much). 2. You have to harvest a doe before you can harvest a buck, and then it must be eight points or bigger(I dont have a problem with that).3. The people in charge are a**holes on power trips. There are some pros to it though for example what ever you shoot you dont have to gut, drag, or even load in your truck if you dont want to, and it is very peaceful and beautiful back in there ecspecially down by the river.

sorry for taking so long to reply,I canoed all weekend. yes i did kill a doe and a nice ten point within about 20 min of each other(I was waiting for them to come and get me after my first shot, my advice don't shoot again until they have come and check the first, this pisses them off real bad), this was two years ago. most people that I know that have hunted there have at least killed a doe. and even with all my bitching about the place I will probably apply again this year to, I was drawn last year but broke my ankle and didnt get togo. so i hope this helps. if your just wanting to hunt in East TN come on up we'll set on the back porch, drink some coffee, tell some lies and shoot some deer.
