Took my wife to the Norris Rifle Range,

Recommended Posts

We both signed up at the Norris PD this evening and drove over to take a look at the Range. I got out to unlock the gate, ask her to drive though so I could close the gate.

This is the point where I should have remembered she grew up in the city and not the country. She just kept driving to the top of the hill and left me at the gate.

I had to walk from the gate to the range.

Now, here is what I expected. As I had been driving, I got out to unlock the gate and figured to save time I would have her move the car though and I would close it back then we would both ride up the hill since we had no idea how much further it was.

At least it was not to far of a walk.

How was the shooting part? Or did you just stay in the car the whole time?

Actually it was getting late so we didnt' get in any shooting, we had not planned the trip all that well, we kinda just run out there when she got home from work.

But now we can go any time we feel like it, I plan to have her get her first gun shot in very soon. She has never shot a gun. Going to start her small with a .22. I dont' want to scare her off at the start.

I love Norris, I've had a lot of fun there shooting OhShoot's arsenal (OhShoot is a great guy to shoot with, very generous with info but won't make fun of you for being a sucky shot plus he'll let you shoot his guns.) But that lock always befuddles me for a few minutes.

The wife's hands are a bit smaller I'd say so she should have far fewer issues with the lock. That lock gives me problems as well. In tight spaces I'm often ambidextrously retarded. The city worker that designed and built that thing (read POS) must have had "girley-man" hands.

Yep, I believe that the new lock is a little smaller too. Went up there late Thursday morning and had the place all to myself for the first time in a long while. I'm just glad no one had to wait on me to unlock the damn thing.
