Given what I've seen out'a them so far, I don't see what "good physical shape" has to do with anything...

Its national television

Saw one guy almost miss the "vote off target" one week. Nerves on camera?

He was dotting an I in someones name.

It's reality TV... and the reality is, not all of us are in such great shape anymore, or look like something off the cover of a fashion magazine.

We can still hit what we aim at, however. :D

Besides, have you forgotten what Roseanne Barr and Rosie O'Donnell look like? ;)

There was that one, then another one a week or so ago when a member of the blue team took aim, then looked away as he shot. he did it once in training with the Beretta as well.

That was Blake and he can do that all he wants because he is an amazing pistol shooter. When he did it in practice, he hit the bullseye.

This is not in response to Capbyrd.

He likes to violate Cooper's rule # 3:

"KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER TIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET This we call the Golden Rule because its violation is responsible for about 80 percent of the firearms disasters we read about."

I know, I know. They're on a closed course and all "professionals" but makes me think of "If a tree falls in the forest when no one is around, does it make a sound." Well, if your eyes WERE on the target, but you take them off the sights, are your sights really on the target in a safe manner?

Either way, he's seen Tom Cruise's "Color Of Money" too much and he forgets everyone has seen his "trick" in person and on tape. But I guess the show would be too boring without showoffs.

I think you're picking nits, since his gun was still pointed downrange, in a safe direction, and apparently the sights were pretty well lined up with the target when he pulled the trigger.

Besides, a lot of people close one eye when they shoot anyway, so they NEVER have their EYES on the target when they shoot.

The biggest surprise of the season: Denny's a cowboy who says his first gun ever was a Peacemaker and said he had a lot to show the other guys on that platform. The absolute 180. Aweful shooting for a Peacemaker-loving "cowboy." Maybe the Wranglers are just a bit too tight.

I watched the first couple of weeks but then stopped after it occurred to me that:

1] they spend 5x as much time dealing with the drama queens on the show than shooting, and

2] I know about a dozen guys off the top of my head that would slay most everyone of these folks in a shooting competition.

The only thing interesting about the show is the fact they use guns - it's otherwise intolerable, imo.

Well, I've put in for it. Seems like I read that, for this first series, they narrowed 350 down to 16 shooters. I'll bet it'll be a LOT more than 350 for the 2nd go-round. Anyway, I sure wouldn't have a chance if I didn't apply. I can shoot, but we'll see how well I'd do on television.
