Wow been MIA for a while and the forum got updated. Cool. Glad to see it. I will still be pretty sporadic as I am fixing to be unemployed, helping them move and all that jaz. Over 4 years with the same company, kinda sucks. I may contract some work for them but who knows.

Hate to hear about the coming unemployeement.

I can imagine that conversation, sorry we are going to have to let you go, and while you are cleaning out your desk, we have some extra boxes we need you to help us move as well.

Sorry that has to suck. Hope you find something in your field or better for you soon.

Those conversations are never fun. I got laid off from a company that closed their office in TN. Our last couple of days were spent packing up everything useful in the place and throwing away everything else. Makes you really want to do your best helping them move!

Best of luck finding work Gun Geek. What type of work are you looking for?

Not really getting layed off. They are just moving our facility to a different state.

Dam, I didn't know anyone paid less then TN.

I won't say what I make, but they laid people off a few years ago in another state doing the job I do now paying them over 20 an hour to hire the team I am on.

On one hand I got a job because someone underbid another company, but it was a seriously big underbid. They are always complaining now how they messed up and bid to low for the job.

I won't say what I do or for who, but the Job I am doing if it was in any other place would certainly pay more.

Well its not a matter of paying less really. They are consolidating facilities. They still have to pay for someone to run the service portion. I am sure they know they wont be getting off cheap.

Keep your resume updated and any schooling you took over the years.

I was lucky to have a headhunter contact me before the layoff.

New job is ok but less money.
