I built mine to basic carbine specs. As I upgrade, I keep all of the parts around just in case. I do the same with car parts. When I get rid of the gun, or the car, I can just add all the parts to it and see if it brings me a few more bucks. If not, no big deal or I can part out if I want.

I also change my mind alot. So keeping things makes it easier to change stuff around.

I know if I ever have to sell my AK it would be better to have the original furniture, but I gave mine away to fellow TGOers. Same with my Mosin and SKS furniture. I have no intention of selling them or switching back, so I would prefer someone else get use out of the furniture rather than me sit on them for years just in case I have to sell one one day.

I sell everthing, except the specific parts i have for spare parts, ex. bolt carrier group, etc. The stuff is so cheap and easy to find, there is no reason to keep it. You can easily find parts if you need/want something. Plus i don't have a lot of storage for a bunch of closet queen parts. Like i said, if i need/want a part i order it and it is very soon on my door step.

I generally keep everything I remove. The reason I do is because on more than a few occassions friends have needed the parts after theirs have failed. Also, if your upgrade parts fail at least you can use the original parts to put the weapon back in service without waiting for replacements.
