I dont know but most of them look just fine to me.

#1 & #4 are ugly from age and use, #5 ugly because someone has really bad taste. I bet #5 wouldn't last 2 days at Gander Mountain up here, some idgit with a Scarface t-shirt would buy it up quickly!

It's not as bad as some of the others here, that's for sure. If you look at the closeup pictures in the other thread, the bluing is pretty damaged along the receiver and barrel. It doesn't show up well in the photo that shows the entire gun.

I can fully concur with your observation, my shop had one not too long ago that was nearly as ugly brand new and it took forever for them to sell it.....I did say nearly though;)

As for your gun I also like it just like it is, it seems to have the classy and respectable look kinda like the touch of grey in my hair use to have.

OK, here are some photos of Photoguy67 S.A 1911. Even though this contest was really set up for a free bluing of steel firearm Photoguy won with his entry. His 1911 has a stainless slide and aluminum frame. Not much I could do in the way of bluing. I hope to get set up for stainless bluing in the future but I'm not at the moment and Photoguy67 didn't want it blued anyways.

I blued the metal components (grip safety,plunger tube,thumb safety,etc.) I simply bead blasted the slide to give it a dull matte look. I had hoped to anodize the frame but ran into complications with that so settled on a spray coating instead. Over all I think it turned out well. I polished his barrel and barrel shroud and hammer. Photoguy even got a new plunger tube assembly out of the deal as well on me . I'm glad to have gotten the opportunity to freshen up his firearm.
