Funny things kids say

Today about 5pm

My wife and I was out checking a few fishing places to confirm or not weather or not they where posted by the city of Oak Ridge and dam it they are.

Seems every place I know to fish close in Oak Ridge is Posted now.

But while walking out to the TWRA pier there was an older couple with their Grandson(we go that from talking with them for a few minutes).

As we walked up to the pier the little boy about 3-4 had a small fish on his line and he was so happy to show it to my wife and I. My wife said what kind is it, is it a bass? The man that was helping him said "I don't know what it is."

It kinda of surprised me as he had a full tackle box and stuff and was not sure of what kind of fish but maybe he didn't fish allot.

I took a look at it and said it looks like a blue gill.

The little boy quickly corrected me, he said "IT's a FISH." I looked at him and said you are right it is a fish We all laughed.

Maybe it was one of those things you had to be there but it was funny the way it happened.

Try the County Park, on the right just outside of Oak Ridge going toward Clinton. Anderson County voted to opt out. They have boat launches and picnic tables.

You are talking about the one pretty much across the road from where the fruit stand was right?

Yes, as far as I know, it's run by the county. I know it's outside of OR city limits.

I thought that was getting into Clinton but maybe it isn't. It is right about the areas the speed limit starts to drop.

That place does not look like a good spot for fishing other then it wet. I don't have a boat to go to a better place from there.

TWRA is state and therefore excluded from local 'opt outs'.

but you can't walk up to that pier with out crossing Oak Ridge City park property. So in a way they have blocked it or should they have to provide us a Right of way passage to the pier that we can carry guns via legally?

Crossing a municipal boundary to get to an area that

allows an activity doesn't get ruled by the other side

of the boundary. If TWRA has a pier allowing fishing

close to a boundary like that, TWRA would win thargument. strickj's right. All Oak Ridge could try is

ban you from walking across the boundary and that

would fail miserably when challenged.
