Remington 700 Bolt Stop??

Recommended Posts

I couldn’t get my bolt to come out when I pushed the bold release. I removed the stock and I had to push down on the end of the bolt release lever; it was stuck.

If even minimal pressure is put on the front of the bolt release lever, the release button can’t push it back; it is stuck in the slot and I have to push on the back of the bolt release lever.

Is the end of the bolt release spring supposed to just be lying on top of the bolt release lever? There is a hole in the forward end on the lever, but there isn’t anything in it.

I cleaned it thoroughly with powder blast sprayed it down with Break-Free CLP in case there was some dirt in there. But it didn’t do any good; it still sticks.

It’s a fairly new 700 VLS with the X-Mark Pro Trigger…. If that matters.
