Shipping to an FFL ... premises or mailing address

Recommended Posts

I need to ship a rifle to an FFL out of state. His mailing address (a PO Box) differs from his premises address (a street address). Can one of our FFL guys on here tell me which address to ship to? On the surface it seems like "mailing address" is the logical place but I want to be certain. I have tried to contact the FFL holder but he is closed today.

You MUST ship to the premises address.

What is the address on the FFL copy he sent you? That should be the shipping address.

[18 USC 923 (a) and (j) License may be only issued for a permanent premises for which applicant intends to do business. Im sure your covered for either address legally but go with the physical address. I dont know why the ATF even issues licenses for PO boxes. Maybe they have slacked a little but when the agent interviewed me for my license he told me "No PO Boxes". You dont do firearm business at the post office!

Well, only USPS will even deliver to a PO Box, eh?

And you as an individual can't send a handgun through them period.

He has the PO box because that is where he receives his business mail such as notices from the BATF. Firearms must go to the premise address.
