Thanks for showing these to me RW!

Would I need any other parts with this? Like a end cap or something?

I did not see any listed on RRA sight.

I may have to pick one of those up when I see the Rock River people when I go to Perry in August..

Side note:

I called RRA and YHM.

RRA makes no end cap for this nor will the YHM fit .

So I went with YHM smooth Hand-guards.

That bites. I love the RRA / YHM stuff. Seems like they would have thought of that.

You'll like the feel of the smooth but it kind of "deadens" the look of an AR to me, if you know what I mean.

When you say smooth, did you get the solid free float tube or the smooth with ventilation?

I had the vented version on the SOCOM and it allowed for rail sections to be screwed on so I could attach the bi-pod.

The totally smooth tubes originally came with no holes or attachment points but I heard they were changing that.

Those are nice and the end caps don put me off. I like the limited rail space. Unless your trying to turn your AR into a swiss army knife the extra rails ar just in the way. JMO.

I installed the Smooth YHM hand-guards and it was not as bad as I thought it might be.

Ill post a few images soon.

The end cap is must for me. Those I have seen with no end cap just dont look right.

The YHM smooth Hand Guards are nice, they did come with tapped holes where you can add extra rails if you wanted.

The holes do not appeal to me.

So I found some set screws and some button head screws that fit the holes.

I know it is up to me but I am torn as to what one look best.

The button heads do stick out a small bit but they are smooth to the touch plus they give you some instant feedback as to where you hand is placed.

The set screws I can set at flush or below the surface so you do not notice them at all to the touch.

So what do you guys think?

If the end caps don't let the bbl freefloat.. then I would not myself use them.

Rightwinger.. that is just what I am looking for.. for my lil 16" patrolman. I am going to take mine up to Camp Perry and see what all Rock River can do for me.. I have already found the trigger for it.

Talk about the sweetest feeling, fastest lock time trigger in the biz.
