It may have been more "destructive" than constructive, but I took all my pistol out back, and punched the centers out of a few targets. Then came in and gave them a good cleaning, then put them to bed for the night.

Up at 06:30. Took a short walk with the big black dog. Shared a pot of coffee with the wife. Picked a couple tomatoes and fixed breakfast. Ummmmmmmmmm, good. Nothing better than fresh 'maters for breakfast along with scramble eggs. Went to Fenders antique tractor show. Went to our favorite pizza place and ate pizza.

Came home and finished pulling the engine off one of my antique tractors. Took a much needed shower. A long fun day even though I did not fire a gun.............carried one though.

:D;)

I'm pretty sure Mike miscounted. ;)

Oh, and as an addendum to my first post... once I got home with the creeper, the dogs had to see what it was.

So I spent a while in the living room floor, rolling around on my back with the creeper, and being "attacked" by a pack of very curious dogs. And also being bombed with tennis and racquetballs by those that wanted to "trade toys". :P

And that's probably the only fun I'll ever have with that particular item. :(

Lucky you asked today, because am typically completely useless for years if not decades at a time. Just ask my wife if you don't believe it. :D

Dad has got too old to drive, and step mom has trouble driving dad's big GMC Sierra Crew Cab. And both of them are getting too frail to climb all the way up into that big tall truck.

So took step mom to car store today and bought her a Honda Element because they decided that the Element has plenty of room and it is pretty easy for old folks to get in and out of.

They decided that vehicle is neither too tall or too short. The seats are at about the same height as their standing rear-ends so they can just slide right in.

That Element is a much easier vehicle for step mom to drive compared to the Crew Cab Sierra, with great visibility all the way around.

It's starting to look like Mike shouldn't try to count posts when he's been drinking beer all day long. :D

( I'm pretty sure posts # 20 through 23 meet Mike's standards as being On Topic. )

you might could continue keeping score for me.

basically if you did something nice for someone else you are good to go.

going to the range or making money for yourself is a fail.

I am the judge, jury and executioner ( Jamie can give dispensation)

Well, the scrap metal made money for me, but it was nice for someone else because they had no way to dispose of 1400 pounds of steel and needed it gone. Partial credit?

I helped my 9 year old son set up to pull the trigger on his first 'yote about 7:30 tonight. Nice little dog, and nailed it good at about 170 yards with the .22-250. Bang; flop. Just got home, and I can't wait to get the pics off the camera and post some up.

Helped Dad drive some fence posts. We're gonna extend the electric fence so the cows can have more grass to eat. They are usually okay, but we've had less rain this year, so they will be glad to have more space. We took the dog along and let him ride in the truck.

Sounds like you get credit, if you were helping out someone else... though it confuses me as to how my own first post qualifies, since the person who my efforts help the most is myself. The helping everybody else doesn't come 'til tomorrow...

you all have me confused

'56 I give you credit based on credibilityof past posts.

Greg tn, that is a fail in this thread

Good Stweard and Olds you helped others so I am saying okay.

Jamie you are fixing to work to help yourself, so you are good to go.

Everyone else please follow the rules.

Of course I make them rules up as I go.

( notice Jack, ( the king of thread drift) has steered clear so far)

Went to the nashville show with my old man, sold one gun, he sold another, I bought one for a good deal, then I bought another one for an absolute steal. Came home, got the pickup, went to TSC and bought a barn fan, and walmart to get a new battery for the tractor. Came home again, changed the oil in a car and a pickup, put the brush hog on the tractor, and took the forks off, then cleaned up my barn a little, and made some wooden guards for my vice so it won't mar up my sbr when I assemble it this coming week.

I would just like to say, concerning justifying my existence ANY day of the week, that every day I can remember for a very long time now, I do something for somebody else.

Granted, that somebody may have scales, fur, 2 legs, 4 legs, or sometimes no legs at all.

But given that around here I am....

The cook/meal planner.

The mechanic.

The carpenter.

The plumber.

The electrician.

The HVAC tech.

The landscaper.

The Architect.

The Engineer.

The Security Specialist.

The exterminator/pest removal tech.

The medic. ( multi-species )

The job counselor.

The school counselor.

The homework assistant. ( Especially in the areas of science, english, and geometry )

The tailor.

The exercise coach.

The nutritionist.

The editor.

The "computer guy".

Occasionally the Bartender.... ( and occasionally the janitor as well, when the bar tending thing goes a little too far. :D )

.... and a whole host of things I can't even remember at the moment, I'm not worried about justifying my existence to anyone, at any time.

Anyway, as Robert Heinlein said... well, here, I'll let him tell ya:

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Please give credit for him. He helped me by cleaning my guns after he used them for target practice. This helped me quite a bit as I as a self proclaimed lazy azz this weekend and the guns needed cleaning before he used them. Thanks honey!
