What a tard. If you're "man enough" to get a hate-filled tattoo on your body, be "man enough" to go to prison with it. What a douchebag.

Daniel Cowart asks court for tattoo alteration | jacksonsun.com | The Jackson Sun

The lawyer for a Bells man who faces sentencing in a plot to kill more than 100 black people, including President Barack Obama, has filed a motion asking that he be transported to the Madison County Jail for tattoo alteration before he is sent to federal prison.

Daniel Cowart, 21, pleaded guilty in March to eight federal charges including threatening to kill Obama — who was a candidate for president at the time authorities discovered the plot — and transporting firearms, ammunition and a short-barreled shotgun in interstate commerce for the purpose of committing robberies, burglaries and murders.

Cowart and Paul Schlesselman, of Helena-West Helena, Ark., were arrested in October 2008 and charged with planning a multistate robbery and killing spree, which would end in an attempt to kill Obama.

Schlesselman was sentenced to 10 years, and Cowart faces a possible 12- to 18-year sentence at a hearing scheduled for Aug. 13.

Cowart's lawyer, Joe Byrd Jr., filed a sealed motion on June 27, along with several sealed exhibits.

The government's response, filed on July 2, is not sealed and references Byrd's request that Cowart be transported to Madison County to have his tattoos altered. Cowart is being held in the Obion County Jail.

Pictures of Cowart show he has at least two large tattoos — a swastika on his right shoulder and an iron cross on the left side of his chest.

Federal investigators have described Cowart and Schlesselman as white supremacist skinheads. Shortly after they were arrested, the Southern Poverty Law Center obtained a photo of Cowart with others linked to the Supreme White Alliance at a celebration of Adolf Hitler's birthday.

A posting by the group after Cowart's arrest says he was a "probationary" member who had been kicked out.

Byrd declined to comment about his motion, saying the government response should have been sealed as well.

The government's response asks that Cowart not be granted transport, arguing that giving Cowart special permission to undergo voluntary cosmetic surgery would cause several problems for the U.S. Marshals Service.

"The Marshals Service is wary of setting a precedent whereby they are obligated to devote substantial resources to transporting and escorting inmates between facilities for the purposes of voluntary cosmetic surgery," the response says.

The Bureau of Prisons takes tattoos into account when assigning inmates, the response says. Inspecting Cowart's intact tattoos will allow prison officials to properly place Cowart and put them "in the best possible position to provide for his care and safety while incarcerated," it says.

Leigh Anne Jordan, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office, said she did not know when Byrd's motion would be unsealed. She declined to comment on why the motion had been sealed.

He looks a lot like the lead singer from the the Eurythmics. Soon enough, he'll find out that sweet things are made of him.

On the plus side, based on the above photo, it appears he knows how to apply his own eyeliner and lipstick, which may temporarily moderate his future beatings. I hope he finds true love.

Psh, I've a Cold Steel blade that would get the job done perfectly without the waste of electricity.

I say they "alter it" the same way they cauterized the old man's arrow wound in Braveheart. Just without the whiskey.

Yes, but grinding is the traditional way to remove a tattoo. ;)

I do have all sorts of non-electrical tools that would do the job though, if he just wanted to "go green". :D

I'm rather surprised at the sentences. Seems rather lenient to me. As to the tattoo's I'm pretty sure he'll get all kinds of alteration in prison.;)

Yea, and I guess he expects our tax $$ to pay for the "alterations".

They should allow him to have it covered...with a rainbow flag.

wouldn't this guy have some kind of status with the Aryans in the joint? I would think he would come in as some sort of hero to them and be a little more protected.

Guess not

Well, if he did have a shot at that, he can give it up now. I'd imagine that once they hear of him wanting his tattoos altered, they're not gonna think so highly of him.

Ah, rape. Hilarious.

Almost anything can be, under the right - or wrong - circumstances.

For instance... have you ever seen this movie? Top Secret!

In it, a couple of guys in a cow costume get a rather rude surprise from a bull that's out in the pasture they're trying to sneak through. And it's quite funny.

Probably wouldn't be quite so humorous if you were the one in the back of the cow outfit though....

That's what I was thinkin'. Bernz O Matic. What has me puzzled... how come a Nazi is plotting to kill Obama? I thought he was their leader.
