favorite time of the day

I sure do love the early morning.

Definitely my favorite time of the day. 5 am to about 7 am or so. Peaceful, quiet, no one else up in the house.

I love to sit outside having a smoke and sipping some diet pepsi. listen to the quiet ( well mostly quiet except for somebodies chicken that is making a racket) I love to watch daylight gradually appear, the ridges coming into view, the dawn of a new day.

Kind of metaphorical really. Life symbolized in the passing of new moments.

whats your favorite time of the day?

I prefer late, late nights. Unfortunately, I have to get up early for work, but I'm definitely a night owl.

I'm with you. I get up even earlier, about 3am. But I'm in the bed every night by 9. I love the solitude of the early morning, and I can even get some things done if I'm so inclined since there are no interruptions.

I like all that crap you are talking about early in the morning, but I hate waking up and getting up more. I got up at 6am this morning and went for a run. I'm not nice early in the morning. I really wish I could get up at 5am, go for a run, cool down, have a cup of coffee, read something or watch the news.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head for me as well. There's absolutely nothing like the feeling of being up before daylight and being able to sit outside quietly watching the new day come in. No matter what I have going on or what I'm going through in my life, that is the time of day that can really calm me down. For some reason seeing daylight come in is like mother nature's way of telling me that everything is going to be alright. On my vacation every year I usually end up in a cabin in the Gatlinburg area, and out of everything that there is to do up there the only thing I look forward too is sitting on the deck in the early mornings, drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette while watching the new day come in.

I'm basically a night owl. I normally wake up around 7:30A, but my survival is in doubt until the first blast of coffee hits my system.

I love the idea of getting going early, before others bother trying to make something of the day. Love the lack of ghetto-blasting cars. Waking early makes me feel like I'm part of the American story of being creative or simply productive in the way of growing our country back to sustenance. To sometimes squeeze the dollar out of the day.

But then I also get a feeling I'm going to vomit if the sun's not turning the corner yet. I mean it. I actually feel totally ill.

Last summer, my FIL and I tore off his two layers of shingles on his 3,000+ sq. ft. house and put on steel roofing. No way the neighbors would've stood for that noise if it weren't in the country. Early mornings for that job, and I wanted to puke out my truck window every time.

I do not enjoy waking up early, but once I'm up, I do enjoy early morning. It reminds me of geeting up early during the summer and riding to work with my dad.

Good call, Mike.

I don't often get up that early, except for during deer season. Most of the time it's 0630 or so.

I will say this though: There is nothing on this planet more beautiful to me than being up in a deer stand, opening morning, in a good spot. 20-30 degrees, clear skies. I love watching the woods come alive, and the steam rising as the temps warm in the sunlight.

Very quiet, peaceful and it's perhaps the best opportunity to have a good conversation with my Father. Just me and Him.

Boy O boy, that brings back memories. I get up early to go do stuff, like fishing and when I use to go hunting, or vacation, etc, and as it was said, once I actually get my lazy aass out of bed, I am ok, once I get that coffee going, I'm a lot better. But don't strike up a conversation with me.....:)

I'm one of those "Dusk 'til Dawn" people. The sun comes up, I'm ready for bed... let it drop, and I'm awake and looking for something to do. I've been that way all my life.

Sure made it tough when I was a kid and going to school, but it worked out quite well anytime I've had to work the night shift.

I can get through the day, with lots of coffee to help, but it's not the time that I'm at my best.

I am a fan of the early morning and late nights! Fortunately, I don't require much sleep :)

But you seem to get a lot of beauty sleep. :)

I love the early morning too...I sit outside and watch my bird feeders and have a smoke and then head to bed :)

I'm with Jamie, a total night owl. I get off work usually around 10-11 pm and then I'm wired and ready to do something. I usually hit the sack around 4-5 am, then back up by 930 or so to start the day again.

I used to be a night owl, and wish I could get back on that routine. The

boss and my two hour call schedule kind of wreck the rhythm, frequently.

My favorite time of the day is bed time. I like being able to curl up in bed with a book for a little while before turning out the lights.

It's funny that you should mention wrecking the rhythm, 'cause one of the other odd things about me is that my natural sleep/awake cycle seems to run at about 30-31 hour intervals, rather than 24.

I don't know if it's because I do like the night better than the day and fight the "natural" tendency to sleep when it's dark, or if maybe I'm just on the wrong planet. :)

They're directional regarding his statement of being on/from another planet.

We need to have big arrow symbols in the smilies, instead of all this made up stuff.

His window A/C must've finally kicked into high gear and froze up his keyboard. :)
