Have no connections but if you could somehow get word to Peyton, I bet he would make it happen. I guarantee the UT Athletic department knows how to. Maybe they could help.

Hope your friend pulls through.

You could try getting ahold of the local media near where the Colts practice, and see if they can get word to the team about what's happened and what you're wanting to do.

Even call the Colt's organization. Like Sports Marketing or something like that and fill them in. Tell them you'll ship it, with return label and everything and it wont cost anyone anything, even send Sharpies with it. All you need is some hands and some sigs. Just talk to people. Even with the UT Program, just keep calling different departments till you find one that will work with you.

I used to have some connections with UT Football a while back (in 98) one of my Dads really good friend's wife got Mother's Day cards from the Entire 1998 Championship team because she cooked them dinner like twice a week. But, she doesn't do it anymore. I wish I could help. I'll ask around.

Erik, I would go to volnation.com and ask around there for some connections. Tell them the story of your friend. Maybe use the link that Mike.357 used in your other thread to let them know you are legit and see where it goes. If someone has a close connection to the Vols, you will find them on volnation. Too bad it wasnt last year, I had two friends on the team. Good luck man, I hope you can find something for him.

Don't know about the Colts, but I bet if you called the UT football office and told them the story they would help you with something. The players do a lot of public service.

I think this is a great idea. Here's why...

One of my uncles did this with Mario Andretti many years ago. My uncle found an old photo he'd take of Mario driving a sprint car on a dirt track in SC in the 60's. He made two copies of the photo, framed one, and sent both to Mario's office. He enclosed a letter saying when the photo was taken and asked that if Mario would autograph the photo and return it, Mario could keep the framed one.

About 2 months later my uncle got a box in the mail with Andretti Racing as the return address. It contained a hand written letter from Mario thanking my uncle for bringing back such wonderful memories. He said the photo was immediately put on the wall in his office. The box also contained the autographed photo (hanging on my uncle's wall now) and one of Mario's driving suits (he was racing CART with son Michael at the time), boots, and gloves. Cool stuff.

Hope your friend recovers quickly.

Honestly, all these are good ideas, just be really stubborn and keep calling different numbers. 1000 people can tell you no. It only takes 1 to say yes. Just different numbers within different departments and tell them the story. Pretty soon, if you become, "That guy that calls everyday." They're gonna do something for you, because they know you really need it, and if it's for a good cause, keep telling them and it'll work. I hope it all works out for you.. If you make any headway, let us know.

Or simply to make you go away and quit calling.

Either way, you'll get the result you want, if you're persistent enough.

When I was in Vandy Trama (was LifeFlighted in and was there for 19 days in induced coma) my family got a Vandy LifeFlight shirt from the gift shop and got all the nurses and doctors to sign it including the LifeFlight crews. I don't ware it but have plans to frame it at some point. It doesn't seem like much but I really like it.

bet you could go down to the knox county intake and get started getting some autographs from suspended/booted players.......i'm sorry, that was so wrong. I once took a football over to Gibbs Hall and left it with my name and most of the players signed it. Don't know about today though, beings how some are thugs and might try to pawn it....i'm just sayin. Best of wishes and lots of prayers to your friend, maybe all the local TGO'ers could pay him a visit or sumpin like that?

He wants to do something nice.........not freak him out ;) Seriously though, I agree with most of whats been suggested, just let people know the situation and prove to them you're not just messing around, and I believe someone will make it happen.
