Went to all the Smithsonians when I was 13.

PARENTS!!!

Don't take your kids on this expensive trip to D.C. if they are too young to truly take it all in and absorb most of it. My wife went when she was in early Junior High. We're gonna have to start all over. At least we have digital cams these days.

I agree completely. I was about 10 the first and only time I went to DC. I barely understood half of what I was seeing and don't recall most of the trip.

Isn't it a standard 8th grade trip? They took us in 8th grade, my family took me the year before and in 97, I went to the BSA National Jamboree. We stopped in DC on the way and I am happy to say that I was old enough then to really appreciate what I was seeing.
