Forest fire! (pics of helicopter in action)

Monday-July 5, Georgia State Highway Patrol-Forestry officers, and firefighters battled a fire on The Disney Trail near HWY 41 in Rocky Face, GA - just behind the Georgia State Patrol headquarters. Rocky Face is located just south of Chattanooga.

According to officers, the fire is believed to have been started by reckless campers in the area shooting fireworks the night of July 4th.

The location of the fire is located in a densely forested area, causing problems for authorities trying to contain the blaze.

Georgia State Patrol and firefighters in the area can not comment on how long it's expected to take to extinguish the fire.

The fire was originally reported around 9:00 PM, Sunday.

A few years back I was working on the Ocoee and some kids set the ridge on fire. A helicopter spent all day scooping water out of the lake next to 64 and dumping it on the flames up the side of the ridge. It was neat to watch these guys work right next to us. Cool pics.
