Got this in an email today. I forget who the owner is, but who cares...look at this basement!

don't know if you can call it an innocentl looking Manor House with a airplaine in the front yard, but it looks like something you'd see anywhere on the outside...

even without peeking in, you can tell this door was made to protect something valuable...

wow, toys as far as the eye can see...

too bad they didn't show a pic of the shooting range (there has to be one, right?)...

I've seen these pictures before - they were claimed to be of Charlton Heston's gun room. Who knows?

You're right, enfeild, I looked back at the email and it claimed this was Charlton Heston's basement. Like you said though, who knows?

That is NOT Charlton Heston's collection. It is/was the Bruce Stern collection. He was an attorney, served on the NRA board of directors, was president of RAMO Corp, and started Historic Arms Corp. He passed away a few years back and most the collection was auctioned off. The house is in Connecticut.

Yeah, that's what I always read but oddly, although Snopes debunks the Heston urban legend, it can't confirm it's Stern's either.

It is Stern's collection. I remember when they had the auction. He had a FG42 that sold for around $150,000. Link to an article about the auction is below. They mention Stern is in the forth paragraph.

Also a link to the Julia Auction listing. The Stern collection starts about 1/4 way down the page.

It make Burt Gummer's rec room look like a sparsely filled Walmart gun locker. A graboid wouldn't have the slightest luck breaking into Stern's rec room!

Tremors, one of the funniest movies of the genre. Let's go watch it again.

I bet one day someone writes a biography of Charlton Heston and these pictures will be somewhere in the middle of the book.

You'd think they would have at least bought a nice leather sofa. I guess he had his priorities straight.

I think the tile job looks nice.....

According to Stern's family, it's not his.

Are those BAR's up around the ceiling?

Yes on the left and right sides. There is a mixture of stuff on the left back wall.
