What a way to end the holiday weekend. Woke up at 230am with severe stomach and chest pains so I went to the hospital. After getting x-rays and having an ultrasound I have gall stones so now on Friday I get to have my gallbladder removed. YAY ME!

You are pretty young for that, dude!

In school, we learned an acronym for the typical gall bladder disease patient: 4F's

"Forty-year-old, Fertile, Fat Female".

Something you'd like to tell us?

Be glad they caught it so easily/early. I lived with it for 18 months before the doctors caught it, said I had everything but. It had went into the first stage of gangrene when they cut me open.

The same thing happened to one of my friends at work. He's in his thirties

and it snuck up and hit while getting ready for work, last week. In and out

of the hospital pretty quick. It's good that the chest pains wasn't something

else. Get well, soon.

Wow, good luck Friday. When I started reading, I thought this was going to be a "I ate macaroni salad that was on the picnic table for two hours" story.

A gall bladder op. is nothing to sneeze at, but I guess it might be better than salmonella. Hang in there.

My wife had hers taken out a few years ago. The Dr that did the surgery said he has actually had one patient who had his taken out in the morning and he went back to work later that day. It was probably desk work.

I hope yours goes as smoothly as that guys apparently did. You ought to be able to get a few days off at least!

Sorry for you, GG. Had mine done about 10 yeas ago. If you're not overweight, you shouldn't have any real problems. I was packing around some extra poundage and was sore when bending or getting in and out of a car for a while. But it really isn't too bad nowadays.
