Very nice indeed. That is a display piece. I would almost feel guilty for shooting it.

Great for deer or wild boar. Of course first thing ya gotta do though, is wire brush off all that shiney crap and give it a good parkerized finish before headin' fer th woods.

Krylon sticks pretty well to gold. I'd just use that.

I'm not much on guns just for show... Not that there's anything wrong with ornamental pieces, I just don't care that much if my tools are envied.

Would I buy it? No...

Would I keep it if it was given to me? Probably not (depending on who did the giving, of course)... my mind would be on how much ammo and how many guns & goodies it would fund...

Yes there is! :)

They are just stupid affectations. John Wayne gold plated NRA M16. Just idiotic.

Heh... well, I suppose one can take anything to the extreme. Gotta admit the world would be pretty boring if there were no extravagant, wasteful, shallow idiots in the world...

That reminds me... I need to find my Caran d'Ache...

Anything commemerating John Wayne is in good taste.

I doubt I would buy one of them though. If I have a gun I want to shoot it. I would not want one of them pens either but if I had one I would write with it.

Wayne stayed in Hollywood 4-F, as I recall, because of his feet So did Roy Rogers. I'll take Gene Autry who went to war and especially Jimmy Stewart who fought to get into the Army Air Corps and finally Stewart flew as command pilot in the lead B-24 on numerous missions deep into Nazi-occupied Europe..

John Wayne.... Pew. I'll take James Stewart every time. He was a real hero. Wayne was just an actor.

It's beautiful, for sure, but the only way I'd buy it is if I had some extra money left from the sale of my private 747. To me, buying a gun I can't shoot is like buying food I can't eat.
