Ladies, have you heard of the SFWA?

I just came across this group called the Shooting for Women Alliance. I was looking at the store site for Bass Pro Shops in Kodak, TN and noticed they were offering free Handgun Carry Permit classes through the SFWA. My wife wishes they were offering them in middle TN as well. They have a web site at MYSFWA.com and their website says

Shooting for Women Alliance is a nonprofit 501C(3) organization that has been formed to educate women and youth worldwide about personal defense, firearms safety, conservation, and enjoyment of the shooting sports ...

I'm not affiliated with this group in any way, I'm just wondering if any of you are familiar with them. Can anyone shed some light on them and your impressions.

My sister just took her HCP class through Bass Pro last weekend.....I didn't know it was sponsored by them. She is afraid to get her permit now though.........they showed a bunch of video about the legal consequences of shooting someone in self defense. They pretty much said to be prepared to get a lawyer and go through a bunch of legal garbage and then probably get sued afterwards if you have to shoot someone. I quoted the famous saying "It's better to be judged by twelve than carried by six" to her. I also said, "Answer me this: Would you rather be killed, or have your grandson killed, and not have to worry about the legal ramifications of a self defense shooting - or be able to have a gun and defend yourself and loved ones if you need to?" I think I saw her wheels turning......I just hope they turn the right way!

My girl is scheduled to go on the 9th this month. If you are a guy that goes WITH a female, then the guy goes free too. I already have my HCP, so a buddy is going with her. I heard about this through a friend that took the class. Very awesome people to take the time and effort to get this done! I also spoke with Susan? in email and she was very kind!

So, do you have a report? I'm wondering whether there was info about the sponsors presented. Was it well attended? Good info?
