Looking for a new rifle.

Hey guys, looking for a new hunting/target rifle.

I've got a 30.06 Remington that's pretty accurate but I'm looking to get something a bit more sporty.

Looking for one in .308 with a heavy barrel, adjustable stock, and a nice action with at least 10 rd mags.

Any suggestions on one that fits the bill or where I might start to build one?

AR-10.

Mike,

You are not going to find any "hunting" rifles with 10 rd mags. EasilyObessed got it right with the AR-10 if you want 10 rd or greater mags. I have a bushmaster in 308 that I target shoot with and hunt with. DPMS has a 308 that starts out about 900 I believe. You may want to try and find a used one to get down in the 500-800 range.

I've got a CZ 550 varmint. But no 10 rd magazines. You wont find that unless you go to a semi auto. And then you probably wont get the accuracy you want. If you get the accuracy,you wont get it for the price you want.

So pick 2 out of 3.

Ah, thanks for the DPMS tip. Looks like I can get everything I want there for less than 1500.

Who is a close DPMS dealer? Hero gear?

I have not been to Hero Gear yet but I know I saw a 308 DPMS at Rabbi's shop, Eastside Gun Shop. Check with him. He could probably get you what you are looking for.
