Ammo left in a HOT car?

Recommended Posts

What risk is there if you leave extra speed loaders of ammo in your console of your car especially when its very HOT outside? I like to carry a back up in my car with extra ammo.

Will it go bad or potentialy become less effective or faulty? Thoughts?

I left 100 rounds of 9mm on the seat of my car for over a month once, in this kind of heat we've been having, and haven't had any problems with them. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it takes a couple hundred degrees of heat to ignite the primer. Not 100% sure on that though...

normal heat from an enclosed car interior is not going to hurt your ammo.

It does not get that hot in there.
