870 Police ejection problems

Has anyone had any problems with soft ejection out of you 870? I've had my Police Magnum for about 6 years now. Over the weekend, I took it out and ran some 4shot Winchester through it to test out the mag extension I just installed. The spent shells were basically dropping right next to my right foot on the ground. I have never noticed this in the past. The shells were not swollen or anything. The extractor appears in good working condition. the spring that puts pressure on it appears fine. The ejector inside the reciever does not seem broken or anything. I have heard of Express models having some burrs of sizing problems in the chamber, but like I said, I've shot this gun many times before and I clean my guns after each outing.

Also, when cycle live rounds through it, it pitches them out the right with no problem.

Some shells (especially cheap ones) expand more/less than others. As long as it's actually extracting/ejecting I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree. Whittle down the possible problems to find the explanation. Ammo, mag extension spring, etc. You'll find the problem.
